Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07xKQakj1hM

A western by Jim Jarmusch starring Johnny Depp with appearances by Lance Henricksen Robert Mitchum, John Hurt, Gabriel Byrne, Billy Bob Thornton, Iggy Pop, Gibby Haines and others.  Music by Neil Young.

Finally saw this last night after years of never getting around to it. Great film - absolutely brilliant. One of the best Westerns I've seen.

I've always liked it, but it's not one of my favorite Westerns really.

A couple of things: Lance Henriksen is a crazy ass motherfucker in it. One of the most evil characters ever.

Neil Young gives a pretty sick soundtrack.

My favorite scene is Iggy, Billy Bob, and Jared Harris at the campire. A couple of funny lines there.

Billy Bob: I can't drink whiskey like I used to could. (ok, not funny on paper.. but his voice is hilarious in the movie)

--

Billy Bob [asking Iggy to say grace]: Now why don't you say us a grace outta the Good Book, would you?

Iggy [randomly opening the bible]: Thank you, Big George. I'd be delighted to do that.

"This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand;
And I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee;
And I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day...
unto the fowls of the air and the wild beasts of the earth."

[Together ] Amen.

This is one of my favourite films. I recommend people watch it if they haven't.

Saw this last night.  Not bad but not awesome.  Had great moments and details evenly dispersed in a matrix of meh.  Might have had less of Blake rolling his head around with his mouth open at the end.  Great cast and great moments, though.

Also this may not actually qualify as a Western using the film-school definition, despite being set somewhere in the American West.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.
