Received my guide/atlas today. Nice little surprise on the inside of the cover jacket. In game item gives 10% exp bonus for 2 hours.
Too bad you can only use 1 per account since I have two, you get one in the guide and one in the atlas.

I seriously have no idea why people buy strat guides for MMO's.  Even as much as I prefer reading things off paper than screens the amount of information given away for free online and the quickness in which the hard written data becomes out of date really makes it a silly idea to me.

This is a common misconception. As it stands now, with WAR, alt tabbing to check the net doesnt exactly work smoothly. Sure you can play in windowed mode or some people even have a second computer they may be able to have open next to them, but not everyone has that luxory.

OP: I hope you enjoy the guides. A ton of work by many many people went into it. Making guides for MMO's can be a slippery slope, without help from the game company in the form of information, early beta invites and lots of patience, these guides dont get done. Mythic was a great resource.

The books are as complete as we (yes, I work for Prima) can make currently. Prima will be trying our best to update the guides. In the Prima forum, please feel free to post things you find that may have changed since the guides were printed. You will also find information on the updates that Prima will be doing as the game evolves.

*Note* This is not an advertising post, while yes it would indirectly benefit me to have everyone buy our guides, I fully understand the quoted person's point of view.

I find them useful for the maps usually - the DAOC Atlas in particular was really really helpful back in the day.

Yep, originally wanted the atlas but I got a package deal no complaints ,both are well written, syndicate boys had their hand in 'em.
