Patch Notes for 9/5 Beta Build 4.1:

  • Players who have been resurrected will now receive a 50% debuff to all statistics, except wounds, for one minute.
  • Players will now receive a 10% debuff to wound each time they release from death. These debuffs stack with themselves up to 50%.
  • The debuff lasts 15 minutes if a player was to die and release in PvE.
  • The debuff lasts 3 minutes if a player were to die and release in RvR.

Does this apply to Scenarios? I very much hope not. As it is I'm concerned about this for RvR as you will die at least as often in one as you will in Scenarios. Having any sort of effectiveness debuff is not going to change that reality while at once adding insult to injury. Imho of course smiley

Nah, it doesn't apply in scenarios.

Is this like rez sickness or a general penalty that sustains just for dying?

It's a rez sickness.

There are healers in towns that clear this for $$, like DAoC.

Ah right. If I recall (now thinking about it) there's healers at the spawn in points for each Scenario too.

So maybe it's more a money sink than a death penalty? I sure hope so, because PvP and death or way the heck more synonymous than even bad-pathing-AI and PvE.

Well in Chapter 1 the cost was like 16cp per each rez sickness you want gone.  In Ch. 2 it's like 32cp, so it may be pretty pricey later on but money doesn't seem to be a big issue atm.  I don't know how much and when I can buy a horse is though.

But there is no XP penalty right? (neg XP in DAoC on rez)  They don't punish you for dying? It's just a temporary inconvenience?

I can't imagine them putting in a XP penalty for RvR, that would be horribly unfair to certain classes.

Does the penalty still apply if you were rezzed by a player?

Penalty is 15 mins for PvE, and 3 mins for PvP.

The penalty doesnt happen in a Scenario

The penalty is a 10% stat reduction, which stacks up to 5 times (I think).

You can pay a small amount of coin to remove the penalty before the timer.

The NPC you pay is right next to where to release to.

If you get rezzed by a player, there is no penalty.

If there are healers in any scenarios, it's legacy from early beta. For a while Khaine's Embrace caused pve deaths <3

It doesn't anymore?  I played it maybe 10days ago and it did.  I thought it was a very novel fight, even if chat was filled with people who didn't understand it and wouldn't stop bitching for a few minutes to understand the concept.

I can't tell if I like the actuall Khaine's Embrace scenario, right now the mechanics of it are too obscured by the fact that of all the scenarios, it is the one that most often has the level 2 Order zerg going up against Chaos premades, at least when I play it.
