Don't know if anyone is using the Fire Eagle Beta, but if you are, invite?

Side note: They keep giving these new web apps stupid names.

What the hell does this app do? Share your location? What does that even mean?

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

I could imagine certain software requiring that you have this sort of thing installed. Sort of like a "Punkbuster" for webapps.

i.e. you bank requires that you have it to log into your account. Making sure you aren't logging in from China or something.

I log into my bank from a lot of places, so...not sure I would like that.

Think of it more like credit card security. It's impossible for you to make a purchase in L.A. and then 10 minutes later make one in N.Y.

For example: My bank requires that each time I log on from a new IP, I have to go through this psychotically complicated process that involves me identifying pictograms, answering a phone call and then dialing in a security code. But, once I do that, the IP is authorized and I can just log in via username and password. So, every 30 days, my IP refreshes and I have to do it again.

This would be a little less of a pain in the ass... and also, a totally awesome way for them to spam me with targeted adds as mentioned above.

It's called Passmark (or at least one company that does that type of stuff uses the name Passmark). It's a good idea, but yeah, I don't find it that hard to imagine blipverts in the pictograms.  Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?
