I'm probably not the only person who goes to concerts/live shows around here. Here's a thread to say what you've seen recently and suggest things to other F13ers.

I saw The Cure on the 16th, and of course it was amazing. Last Thursday I saw Rancid and Murphy's Law, and those guys are still rocking just as hard as they were when they started. If you like punk this show is a must see, I think, and the tour is about halfway through I think.

Saturday I'm going to see Kittie, Dope, and A New Revolution. I haven't seen any of these bands, but I figure it'll be a good show.

Saw the Old 97's and the Watson Twins for free on Friday night.  Decent show, even if Rhett Miller can't very well sign live.

Been to probably one thousand concerts in my life and I'm only 23 years old. Some of my favourite liveacts and I think the whole world should experience these bands / artists :

In the various metal / rock genres : Nile, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Trail of Tears, Nightwish (with Tarja), Keep of Kalessin, Queens of the Stone Age, Moonspell, Green Day, Flogging Molly, Rise Against, Marilyn Manson, Dillinger Escape Plan, Children of Bodom, Rage Against The Machine (Yes soon we can see them again!)

More electronic / indie stuff : Trentemøller, The Knife, Daft Punk, Justice, Portishead, M.I.A, Manu Chao, Mike Patton's various stuff, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Bjork, Sarah Brightman, Katie Melua, Death Cab For Cutie, Fatboy Slim

Drum'n'bassy stuff / darkstep / neurofunk (rarely to see some of these outside Eastern Europe / US) : Limewax, Current Value, Technical Itch, Dylan, John B, Concord Dawn, Teebee. Haven't seen all that many live here.

Hiphop / rap : Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Eminem, Outcast, Looptroop, Jedi Mind Tricks, Timbuktu, Black Eyed Peas / Will.I.Am, Royce Da 5'9.. I can't remember more I really enjoyed.

Regarding trance / hardcore / hardstyle / house etcetra there is way too many artists to name a few. Some are outstanding like Groove Armada or Junior Jack, but I think going to festivals around the world with many artists will be the best idea to get a proper experience.

Realized my list is perhaps a bit long, so I left those who are at the top for me.

I can't remember a month that Righ didn't go to at least two gigs.  The latest being Nearfest.  I think that might count as more than two gigs.  I don't remember what's coming up in July but I know he'll be seeing King Crimson in August.  King Crimson!  Good Grief!  ACK!  I'm surprised someone hasn't pushed Robert Fripp in front of a bus by now!

Went to see The Cult recently. I'll be at a Siouxsie gig this week and a Ministry show in a couple of weeks.

Tempted to go and see Metallica in August - last time I saw them it was just before they released Metallica. Also they have tenacious D as their warm up band. May not be able to though as it's the day before the Leipzig Games Convention.

I would go to more but, y'know, work.
