Since there are a few bug lovers here, maybe one of you can indentify what has invaded my deck.
Something appears to be nesting behind my siding. At the inside corner of the siding, I've been finding small groups of some type of larvae. They are about 1/2" - 3/4" long, off white, kind of ringed. Basically, they look like oversized maggots. Its as if they are falling down from behind the siding. Not mutch happens after that, the heat on the deck seems to cook them before they move a foot away, but I'm a little curious and worried as to what is producing them... Haven't seen any signs of any flying insects arround the deck at all.
I'd take a picture, but all the ones out there right now are crispy and don't look like much.

That they're falling down to land on your deck could be bad. Termites or wood bees perhaps? Maybe something harmless, but coming from your siding is a potentially bad sign. Can you peel some off to take a look?
