Who's still playing in BC? I just had another morlock resubscribe (Zetleft).
Just wondering because I'd like to do the mid-20s respec before I outlevel it and have to deal with the darn freakshow resurrecting bastages.
And I'd rather do it with some folks from here than hope a pickup group stays for the whole thing.
Anyone else need a respec? Or anyone else even playing? ;)

I am still playing but I have never been on the same server as you guys - ditto for Grind who posts in these forums.

If you do the respec trial, do you have to respec right there and then, or can you just keep the badge or whatever till you need it?
Also, can anyone confirm exactly what the min/max levels are for the first one, and can you sk/ex into it?
I have a 29 scrapper, no need whatsoever to respec him. But been thinking about whether I want to do the TV trial for laughs, xp, and badge vanity.

To answer your questions
- No, you dont need to respec immediately. You an effectively stock up on them untill you hit your level max for respecs, or game max for respecs, whichever comes first
- I am not 100% certain, but i Believe the Respec quest range goes something like this (there may be overlap in the 33-34, 43-44 ranges, not sure) - 1st - 24-33 - Sky Raiders - 2nd - 34-43 - Freakshow - 3rd - 44-50 - Rikti
- No, you can not SK into a respec team in the next tier above you. - Yes, you can Exemplar into a respec team in the tier below you. Also, provided you havent already got your appropriate level respecs done yet, it MAY count towards a respec badge (ie, if you are level 50, and have only done 1 quest, you could Exemplar down to do it in a 34-43 group and get your second badge, but not a 24-34 group, since you are counted as having alredy done that one)

SurfD has the details correct as far as I know.
Several words of advice: keep the levels in your group at +/-1. Bring defenders. Keep the party close to the minimum number (4-5). Things seem to go most smoothly under those conditions. Of course, if extreme mayhem is a goal, then an 8 person group will definately provide that!

One of the reasons I'm having a hard time putting a group together is that it's always blasters forming groups, and I'm a blastola. Had a tanker and a scrapper yesterday, but they wouldn't group with two blasters. Kinda reminds me of EQ, first time I've felt that about CoH.
It's kind of dumb, too. Why make the respec group-only, anyway? It's not like you can just respec whenever you want, with the limited respecs in a character's life, bah. And you are right about the strict +/- 1 lvl only, otherwise the lower members are almost useless against the purples the highest member spawned. But I've longed bitched about CoH's level spread being WAY too restrictive.
I like grouping in the game, it's fun. But this is getting a little ridiculous (I've been trying to get a 26ish respec group since last weekend). "Sorry, you're too high/low/a blaster."
Heck, I don't /need/ a respec, I only chose one power I don't use frequently (a melee secondary). I just want to reorganize my enhancement slots for the way I'm using those powers now, redistributing some enhancements to powers I got later on.

The best part of SWG was the easy account cancellation process.

I don't get why blasters are hated. Explain. It goes like this, mostly... Other than controllers, who are very weak offensively, all the other archetypes are melee. It's incredibly frustrating, as someone who has to be next to a mob to hurt it, to have everything(or the vast majority of same) fall over before it even gets close. The fact that blasters solo very well due to this ability to take stuff out before it gets close generates a certain amount of resentment as well. Alkiera

To bad you aren't on the guardian server. I have a Tanker there that loves to team up with blasters. I taunt, you nuke, everyone has fun.
Not sure why most people don't like to group with them unless it does boil down to being jealous about the damage output.
The one class I don't particularly care for as a tanker, is an over anxious controller that doesn't wait until I've taunted everything to me, before they lock them down where they aren't all within the scope of my AE taunt.
Just let me get in there throw out a couple taunts to pull them all to me, then lay down your hold spells. Works better.
Good luck on getting that respec mission going.

It also has to do with a lot of blasters at the outset of the game being twitchy impaitent asshats. (since they were the FOTM characters at that time.)
These FOTM characters would 1) Repeat loudly how awesome blasters are, and how everyone else sucked. (Ah I recall the days of being told "Scrapper, why would we want one of those,?they just die.) 2) Form all-blaster groups and exclude the remaining archtypes so they could AOE nuke purples (Prior to the "purple patch" of course.) 3) When they DID group with others, the impaitence would take over, and they'd nuke something, pull a crowd onto the not-so-ready group where they'd die first (having all the aggro) and then proceed to bitch out the group and leave.
At least that's why I had an aversion to blasters at the start of the game. Now it's moved on to my fellow scrappers that I have an aversion to.
