What do you mean?

The first person you talk to in the tavern gives you the option of skipping tortage and the destiny quest.

That is the option to skip that "step" of the destiny quest, you know, cause some of them have bugs that stop you from being able to complete them. It doesnt make you level 20 and able to bypass Tortage, it just means you have to do more day time quests.

I would LOVE the ability to skip Tortage and go straight to level 20. Having done Tortage 4.5 times now, I really dont want to do it again. It especially sucks because classes dont really start to feel different until level 6 minimum. Yeah, thats only like 30 to 45 minutes, but still.

so wow really.....

I go to the field of the dead and get literally 3 quests to 15 kill wolves (not werewolves, not manbearpigs, just regular wolves) in 3 different spots.  Then I go kill the wolves, hand in the quests and literally get another quest to kill another 15 wolves in another part of the zone.  At that point I logged off...

Those are repeatable hunting quests.

Maybe they were but all 4 quests I had were for different spots.

And if repeatable grinding quests is how they expect me to level then I'm gone.

The repeatable grinding quests are off of the wanted posters, there are multiple quest hubs in FotD though, and one of the quests from the first group at the zone in sends you to the next (first, really) hub.

So, you're doing it wrong.

UM, these are from npcs not from wanted posters.  I haven't gotten one quest from a wanted poster yet.

There is a series of quests which have you killing wolves in different spots. It's all part of the anti-werewolf line. It builds to a final battle I can't recall.

Reading quest text is hard.

I really wish there was a form of mass transit that didn't involve me jumping off a cliff, drowning myself, or running into a group of mobs and hitting the dance button.

They really need to fix the spawn times.  Yes, you can switch instances, but 10 minutes between some of these mobs popping is a bit ridiculous.  Especially when a lot of quests require you to take out a boss or mini-boss (especially in Connal's Valley).

There is a quest in Field of the Dead that wants you to kill something like twelve named bosses.  I deleted it as soon as I saw all the Xs.

That quest is for the Haunted Forest, and that chain gave me an entire level and is solo-able.  The reward is a selection of pretty nice weapons if I remember correctly.

I'm sure it is soloable but after standing around for at least thirty minutes waiting for just four of the damn fragment bosses I wasn't about to do twelve.

Quick tip:  The boss for the fourth fragment is not actually where the X is on the map, he spawns in the little pit where the minions are digging up skeletons in that same camp.

I don't know if this is a don't like or just a general bitch.  Why do my helmets come with blond hair and braids?  The first time I just pretended it was the scalp of the guy I took it off of but I can only do that so many times.

Happens to me with the medium armor newbie helm. All of a suden my nubian black haired ToS tuns into fookin' Brunhilda.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

It's pretty common to have either hair modelled as part of the helmet or not at all, to avoid clipping issues with different hairstyles (i believe ex-SWG players are intimately familiar with the hat/hair subject) ... would guess that hair is supposed to take whatever colour your character has selected, but it's bugged.

Canceled my sub for now.  Waiting for quest mobs and such to spawn only to have someone else attack them first is the kind of thing that didn't need to be brought back into MMO's.  I could tolerate it back when it was really easy to switch instances, but now it makes some dungeons pretty much unplayable.

Game never really felt much like Conan to me anyway.

They changed from a very localized regional ooc to a nation wide regional apparently. It's all misogyny and homophobia all the time. Unfortunately, it's also the only way to find a group. I logged out in disgust. Compared to this, Barrens chat deserves the Nobel Prize. I firmly believe AOC has the worst community of any MMO I've ever played.

The fragment bosses spawn very slowly and are a pain.

The forest bosses spawn very quickly. That quest can also be done solo, even though it is marked as a group quest I think, if you are smart.

But yes, the fragment bosses pissed me off too.

By the way, heres my Tempest of Set Experience

Press spell button

Wait up to 2 seconds for my guy to stop playing with himself and actually get to work

Wait 4 seconds as spell is casting. In the meantime I press next action key to queue that up
when thats animating i press the next action. Since the action is queued it will go off immediatly.

If I have to run I have to pray the dumnass on my screen notices so I can get out

Since it's doesn't, the result is death.

I guess you are referring to Lightning Strike ? It actually has a small cooldown after it is used, so you cannot spam it. And don't worry, once you get Storm Field / Storm Crown you will have far more fun, ToS is awesome.

Sir T. That's the Tempest before level 15, and/or if you specced it in the wrongest way possible.
I am redundant about the ToS qualities and fun factor, but apparently it's never enough. It has been stated so many times that the ToS, given a few levels, it's not what you described.

I was actually bitching more about the godawful system requirements that appernetly have me communicating with mu avatar through morse code...

and for the record At level 19/20 my treck through the final battle in Tortage was a line line of tomnstones.. And I don't have a cloe how I could have set up ly feats any differently at that level to make mmuch difference.

Fun game but I'm sick and tired of hammering my keyboard in frustration.

My experience/strategy:
Spec everything in lightening
Max out casting concentrating at every level

begin every "tough" battle by applying one or both of the hots (save the quick heal for when you're getting beaten up)

to begin combat, start with the big lightening, wait till they group up (i.e. they get to you), then hit them with the quick lightening,
then immediately follow up with the big lightening
Decide whether you want to flash heal, and/or (re-)apply the any of the hots
Now decide whether you want to beat them to death, or do they need some more lightening

In a couple levels you get storm cloud, after which this class is surely crazy broken (overpowered).

I found there was some funky disconnect between the animations and the action on my TOS. Thats probably the case with melee as well, but it moves so fast it's hard to figure out if something got lost or you just didn't hit or something.

You sure that's necessary? I've got 1 in Casting Concentration and *never* get interrupted apart from when the mobs use knockdowns or stuns.

I can't recall is I said this before, but they really need a /who system. Their player and guild search is an insult to mankind. I think the last game where I couldnt do /who "name" was in the mid 90s.

Maybe I just dont know the right command, but this is fucking horrible.

I think this is accurate, I just didn't have anything else to put skill points into.  A hiding TOS didn't seem to make much sense, and having a 100 points into restore seemed more then enough to regen mana quickly.
