We were sitting at a gate, I prefire my guns because the enemy fleet is near, I autotarget a friendly berserker II drone, shoot it and get concorded.

Not sure, I dont know that drones can target you and trigger auto-retarget.  Maybe you were targeting that Rifter manually and got a drone instead?

Either way, its not that big of a deal, sucks a bunch, but don't worry about it.  Could have happened to anyone, in fact it happened again shortly after.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

no, it was after the rifter, I didn't even try to target it. I suppose I could have clicked on the drone somewhere in space, I didn't even have drones on my overview, only hostile ships and there were none at the time.

I made a reimbursement petition. I suppose you shouldn't get concordokkend for shooting drones in your fleet.

Unless it's in the same corp as you then yes you do unfortunately. Fleet or not you can't shoot in empire unless it's a wartarget or a corp mate.

Step 1: Go to your Setup - Reset Settings tab and reset the "Confirm warning of attacking innocent players" or something. It will go away once it's done.

Step 2: Turn off Auto-targeting in General Settings. (optional maybe, since I'm used to getting the auto-lock as a warning)

Step 3: Make sure you know how to distinguish War Targets from other random reds. The overview guide tells you to set war targets with a red background and this has not failed me at least, not counting warp scrambling a blue.

I don't want to throw advice to people I'm sure know well enough to figure it out themselves, but two Concordokkin' occasions kind of prove you that mentioning obvious stuff is still cost-effective. I agree that this is partly because the build up makes people nervous and, by God, I like the fact that this game gets your heart pumping. I did Pre-fire my guns on that Rifter and Pod, but I only do that when I know for certain what they will fire at. If the overview starts blinking madly I can just as fast roll my fingers over the F key piano.

I'm sure if we had had neutral pilots in the fleet who would start locking the enemy fleet before the actual warring people do the other side will get just enough Concordings. See it as an exploit or not.

That whole auto-targeting thing is useless, and pretty random in my opinion. Mine's never locked an actual enemy player when i needed it, but it has locked (invariably) the wrong rat in a belt.  Apparently there is at least some situations where it can lead to a Concordokken.

I'll be turning it off ASAP next time I get in game.

Witty banter not included.

The blame is on me.  Many humble apologies.

I will post the video soon with an explanation.

I fucked up and if I caused you personal loss then please PM me.

The call came that there were WTs jumping in.

A WT jumps in and I prefire on him - I look down at my keyboard.  The WT jumps out.

Though my Overview is set to show only WTs, a red appears and, looking up, I assume he is the WT.

I fire on the non-WT and hell breaks loose.

Apologies and / or sidelined.

Edit: Video link pulled at request.

Heh well at least something went BOOM while we were all standing around. Sucky, but better than losing the whole fleet to those WTs!

Did you have it fully insured?

I think I might have an idea, even if it was your own drone or corp mates if you/they have them assigned they then belong to that other person and his corp. I went to rep one of my drones tonight and it gave me a warning that I was about to rep another corps drones(I had them assigned to HMFSGB), be careful this will leave me open to a war or something along those lines. This is a load of crap and more shabby game mechanics that needs to be looked at I would still petition it.

In hindsight I'm pretty sure what happened. When it looked like hostiles would start jumping in, I doubleclicked in space to align me with something. I targeted a PIE drone that passed under my cursor instead. I couldn't see it passing because I had drone brackets turned off.

Considering this fine move, together with Grand Design's one, spared our fleet from certain destruction by a larger and more BS heavy enemy fleet, I suppose we deserve some major kudos for sacrificing ourselves to save the fleet. Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

I think the sides were more equal than we thought we had a few HACs and a guardian. Plus if we got the RR ball working well enough it would have given us a headstart.
