I've found like 4-5 people I group with for a couple hours a day.

Shared bank is in.

Auction house comes in next patch. So does stack splitting. (lol)

They have a random item seller - you can waste/spend you money hoping for a unique.

I think with 2.0 it will be worth taking another look at.

Is that all for people with subs or just regular punters?

The mail is for everyone. So you can use that instead of a shared bank. And people do.

Everything else is sub only. So I guess there finally is a reason to sub.

No - that's an everyone thing. And it's way too late in coming.

The game is finally getting to what it should have been at release.

Wonder if they will do a hellgate: expansion pack to sell in stores just to get a few more people to look at it.

I really liked the game and even subbed for a month.  I don't think I'm ready to give them a second chance yet, though.  They really fucked up the first chance I gave them.

I just bought HG:L, doesn't look as good as Bioshock, but stutters a good bit.  So far running through with a guardian, its a pretty fun hack'n'slash and random maps are love. The maps have 3 dimensional Lego pieces which is even better than CoH/V.

I really think 2.0 is going to make the game pretty fun.

It's too bad the game wasn't released...one month from now.

Then maybe I'll sub again.  I really like the game other than, you, what happened and didn't happen when it launched.  I didn't enjoy spending more time trying to sort out my inventory than play the game.  That sucked Major Tom.

Shared bank and being able to mail stuff to alts is love for getting rid of stuff without...you know...getting rid of it.

I need to make me a few more alts. I can't wait for the auction house. Gonna be interesting then.

I played for a little bit yesterday and I still really like this game.  I'll probably sub at some point.  I've been playing AoC lately, but you know how fickle I am with games.  They haven't put a sort option for inventory in yet, by any chance?  That's the biggest pain for me.

So I'm patching this up because they are doing a two hour maintenance in AoC and this thread has reminded me I own this game.  Why on earth do I have to download a file to patch it, why can't their flipping patcher do it for me?  Absurd stuff like this reminds me of why I stopped playing the game just as I am reconsidering it...

Holy balls, 2.0 is going on the test server (supposedly tomorrow) with a 1.3 gig patch.

I've been playing a bit again.  I really Really REALLY want to love this game.  If they hadn't fucked it up, it would be more me than AoC.  I want the new super hero MMO now, too.  I'm so tired of fantasy type games.

Oh good.  I have a droog.

I'm wondering if it's worth just playing on the test server.  Do they wipe it or anything?  They have everything the other server has only earlier, no?  The updates are slow but they're definitely packed full.  I resubbed to check it out.  It's only a tenner anyway.  I haven't been able to concentrate on AoC or WAR lately.   I don't know why.  I still like them.  My mind just wanders when I play.  Maybe HG:L is just more mindless.

TLDR: They don't plan on wipes but won't guarantee there won't be. There's a thread on TC policy here. Double XP? awesome, for real

I think I'll just play there mostly, then.

Also, with double xp, I might even make some of those thingies like "get to level 10 in four hours" and stuff.

Those sound like pretty good benefits, maybe I will fire this up and play it until people show up on my guild's vent server.

Late reply: I also had more money than sense and bought the lifetime sub.  I only asked since I thought if you were still playing and enjoying Hellgate I would offer to give it to you since I don't really use mine.  But maybe I will now!

Just that one?  Maybe I could get the level something else in 10 hours thingy?

This Abyss patch is huge.  I'm not sure the initial game took this long.  It appears that this patch will put the game very nearly in the state it should have been at release.  Almost.

Leveling by X achievements will be removed in 2.0, which is fine by me.  I think I'm sticking to live for now because my TC characters are all old and busted.

Test server is lovely.  Fast, all kinds of mega loot, and why does the game look better than before?  I think they did some work in that area, too.  Maybe.  I'll be playing Elite.  I don't know why I'm not, anyway.  I've not been able to get motivated lately for the normal type MMOs like AoC, lately.  This is much better in a mindless way.

It looks better because at release they had some issues with loading the high res textures in the stations. So they turned it off.

And I agree, 2.0 should have been 1.0.

Ooooh.  I only played a few weeks at the start because it was, well, you know... with holes.   Anyway, it looks really good now.  I wonder if it'll start getting popular again.

I think one of the main reasons I'm still playing this is because I look so fucking cool.  I wish there was more customisation when you create a character but even without it, there isn't a game where I look cooler.  Even CoH.  I get misty-eyed whenever I look at my MM.  And she's only level 18.
