Just wanted to ask, does anyone here have one of the newer PSPs with the TV out capability, and how good is the picture output?

I am mainly curious as to what would happen if you, say, loaded an episode of a TV show like House on it and output it to a TV, what would the picture look like?

It is surprisingly decent looking. If you are looking into doing this, Target has the TV out cables in their clearance isle for like $5-$7, so jump on that shit. It takes up the whole screen if you have wide screen and it looks like it is letter box if you have a normal tv

im going to guess that if i wanted to use this thing as a video player for showing things on tv, that i would have to convert the source video down to the PSP's resolution? or could i just grab an ep of house (or any other show) and throw it on the PSP and show it on TV without having it look distorted?

you would have to use conversion software or whatever.
