Their webpage is much more entertaining than their music. I could only get about 20 seconds into any of their songs; I just can't deal with these new quasi-folksy types.

This stuff is really descended from the Doug Anthony All Stars, about 20 years ago. The host introducing Tripod in the clip posted above is Paul McDermott, a member of DAAS (P.S. Doug Anthony was a boring ultra-conservative politician of their era).
