That shit is super fucking awesome.  Basically letting you think what you want to say, and it picks it up off yer nerves in your vocal chords, and translates it to computer speak.

GAME CHANGING.

I want this to use at work with friends.

So, rather: Humans too lazy to walk a few desks down.

This could have tremendous applications in late night gaming (where it's important not to make noise that would wake normal people up).

Or in making phone calls from a cubicle farm.

No, but it's going to blurt out what I WANT to say, not what I should say.  You can't imagine some of the shite I WANT to say, but never do.  It's really bad.  Really, really bad.

Yes, this would be very bad.

Maybe if users of this technology were somehow covered by a blanket immunity law protecting them from penalties related to inappropriate/illegal uttered speech, then I would try it out for sure.

People needn't worry about their raging inner douchebag being let out... at least not UNconsciously.

My lack of verbal self-control has not limits.  My fingers each have one tiny little brain cell which causes them to do stuff on their own and they hate me so much that they'll push the talk button to get me in trouble.  I'm pretty doomed.

Oh good -- when I saw the article, I thought they were picking up sub vocalization. The shit you want to say, that your brain starts the process of saying as you think it, and that the "thinking" part of you says "Woah! Slow the fuck down there!" and squelches it.

Like in say, customer service, when the nice lady on the phone is screaming because her cable is out and what you're THINKING is "You stupid bitch. This is the third time in six months we've cut your fucking service, and it's because you don't fucking pay until we cut it. And you're fucking yelling at me? Stupid fuck.". What you say is "Ma'am, our records indicate that you haven't paid in two months, and that's why service was terminated."

But that "Stupid fucking bitch" thought isn't one I want my mic to pick up. Not that I do customer service. Because I'd call them a stupid bitch and get fired.

Oh definitely, I could never touch this if it picked up on sub vocalisation or actual thoughts. I'd get in so much trouble. Actually I doubt there's a human being alive that could afford to have their thoughts broadcast, we have built our lives on so many nice little lies that comfort us so much we couldn't handle the truth.

As far as game possabilities... it could FINALLY get rid of having to hear some moron's music or game feedback when they talk.
