So I'm stuck with this odd graphics issue in Vista -- well, a desktop appearance issue. Prior to the last updates, my window title bars were a nifty translucent black. Now they're back to the default solid blue and really goofing up the overall color scheme that I had set. Since I'm on this thing a lot, I like to not have things as non bright as possible for non-crucial colors.

I know where to look to change the various settings for window appearance, etc., but for some reason, my changes never get applied. I've tried several reboots and shutdown/restarts but nothing's working.

Any ideas?

I traded in my fun blog for several legal blogs. Or, "blawgs," as the cutesy attorney blawgosphere likes to call 'em.

I get this, DivX player resets all my colour schemes to basic. It gets fixed after a soft reboot. I don't know how else to fix it; and yes it's dumb and inexplicable.

I've had no real problems with vista64, but I turn all that stuff off. Solid green, squarish bars are good enough!

Upgrade to Windows XP.

No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.

I got stuck with Vista when the cat knocked a glass of water into the last laptop. I can't really swing paying for a new XP license, so I'm stuck with what I have. On the whole, it's not awful, I just think it is like a shiny version of ME.

Or something.

I'm stuck with teh damn OS, so I have to at least pretend that I'm not hating it.

That article might be slightly interesting if not for the fact that it's from a blog that seems to exists solely for the purpose of sucking Apple's dick.

Actually, he's a former Apple sales rep and he bags on Apple frequently too (at least until he gave Vista a whirl)…
