So I've decided to spend some semi-afk time mining.
I don't want to bother with hauling cans in industrials or second accounts. A simple undock, mine, dock and repeat cycle is what I'm planning to do.
Should I go for a hulk straight away or are the other ships out there suitable for this kind of mining?

Hulk will fill up in like 2 minutes. Unless by semi-afk you mean being a dirty macroing whore, I don't see how mining without hauler can be done.

I don't really feel like training big industrials...
Right now I can ship a little over 10k m3 in an indy. How much space does a hulk have with max capacity modules/rigs?

No lie.

A full mammoth hold full of ore (18m3) is about 500k ISK worth of ore.  Unrefined ore is large. If you're lazy, you can just fit a mining beam to a indy and walk away for 30m while it slowly fills up. That'll net you a very slow in terms of hourly profit, but a nice boost I guess when you're starting out.

A hulk is going to pull in about 1500m3 per minute of raw ore. It's cargo is 8000m3, and your low slots are filled with mining upgrades and not cargo expanders. So, you've basically got 6 minutes before you have to go back to station. That's why everyone jetcan mines or mines with an indy in tow constantly ferrying ore to a nearby station.

A mammoth is only 3 days of training away so that can be an option

The Hulk would be slightly longer than that.

If you can read this, you're on a board populated by misogynist assholes.

Mining in an industrial full of Mining Upgrades in the lows, 5k cargo or so, 100 m3 / minute with Mining 4, Astrogeology 4.  Basically you empty every half hour or so.

Mining in a cruiser (Osprey) with Cruiser 4 and the above, about 500 m3 / minute, into jetcan, you can probably get an industrial full (10k cargo, cause now you have expanders in the low slots) every half an hour, but must drag ore every minute.

Hulk, he's already said 1500 m3 per minute, you fill a jetcan in about half an hour (indy every 10 minutes), but the skills to pilot a Hulk take a month to train I think.

As far as selling what you've mined, I just refine it all and haul the minerals, as they take less space.  It's still multiple trips in that industrial though, esp. for the tritanium.
