Anybody know how I can trick iTunes into believing I'm from the US without me getting a US credit card? Obviously HBO doesn't want me to listen to Bill Maher anymore.
Setup an ITunes US account using a throw away US Paypal account as the payment method. Do not actually go through the process of enabling the Itunes account via paypal.
Now, go on to eBay and buy an Itunes US gift card. Redeem the US gift card on your non-paypal-enabled account.
Presto. Has worked for me from Canada for the past two years and works on my current Take2 Apple TV to do rentals from the US store.

I buy books from amazon.com at least three times a year and have not had a problem with Customs as of yet. The best bet for paying US online store prices in Canada is still borderfree.com, the company run by Canada Post.
