So.

Anyone else feel like this is the game Sakaguchi always wanted to make and Square was just holding him back?

Easily the best (and probably the most well-paced) JRPG to come out of a Square-head since say Final Fantasy 6 (if you don't count FFT, which uhmmm isn't a JRPG).

I'd buy that.  I'd also buy the theory that FFXII used several of his ideas, but not all of them, rather than the reverse.

I'm going to avoid this thread for a bit due to spoilage.  I'm SO CLOSE to finishing Digital Devil Saga, meaning I've defeated everyone except the end boss (and Demi Fiend, but fuck him) and have unlocked every Mantra, so I'm charging to the finish line.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

I'm on disk 3 and so far the game is whipping the snot out of any Final Fantasy I can remember. Even with its very traditional JRPG elements and somewhat cliched storyline so far it's great fun. I espeically love being able to tweak equipment on the fly in combat which is turning me into a supreme micromanager.

I just wish I could have more than 5 people in my party. I keep having a hard choice about who to take and who to leave behind. It'd be made much easier if the characters I didn't choose still gained XPs and learned skills. As it is I feel a need to rotate characters so no one gets too far behind. Seth and Kaim are the only two that are always in my party to this point.

5 people is more than we've gotten in a party in a FF/DQ style RPG since FFVI.

I don't know what's wrong with 5 people being in a party.

I was stoked to find out we even got that many! DRILLING AND MANLINESS

It's not an issue perse. I just have a hard time deciding who to take with me.

I that based on anything?

vampirehipi23: I would enjoy a book written by a monkey and turned into a movie rather than this.
