Use EFT.

Make me a Gila fitting that doesn't suck. This is way harder than you might think. I think I have one.

Oh yeah, my missile skills blow so don't fit any :)

EDIT: I should add that this will be a gang ship, not a (lol) solopwnmobila Gila.

Wow, this ship sucks. Even with missiles, which you don't have.

This was the best that I could come up with... You'll be ignored at first because people will think you are a joke. Use this to your advantage! (note: you still are a joke!)

3x Reactor Control Unit II
1x Magnetic Field Stab II

1x 10MN MWD II
1x Large Azeotropic Ward Sabularity (Named LSE)
1x Invuln Field II
1x Ballistic Deflection Field II
1x Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I

4x Heavy Ion Blaster II (Null M)
2x Medium Energy Neut I

3x Drones of your choice (wtf. Bandwidth 15? lol.)

I'd be going for some kind of snipe platform operating at 60km out.  But I'm not sure what exactly to do with the lows/mids on a sniping rail platform so I'm not going to try to guess at a fitting.

Impressive Bhodi.

You came up with a very similar setup as mine. The only thing the Gila has going for it is it's high natural shield HP. Last night I decided I would finally start fitting this horrible ship. As it is a faction ship, its going to get targeted, count on it.  So I basically thought...hmmm, maybe I could try to be a frigate popper with a very serious tank. It went something like this...

4 x Dual 150mm II
2 x Neut

10mn Microwarpdrive (named)
2 x Invuln II
2 x Large Shield Extender II

3 x Power Diagnostic System II
1 x Magnetic Field Stab II

Rigs!!!!!

2 x Core Field Extender I
1 x EM shield resist

3 x Hobgoblin IIs!

In other words, i spent more money to make ship less dangerous than a simple thorax :) The plus side... Its sooper cool to get killed in one.

I tested it against a fleet stabber, and it held its own actually. I tested it against a Neutron mega with T2 heavies...couldnt hardly hit me...the shield regen with the PDUs is quite ok, and looking at around 15000 shields I have twice as much as Battlecruiser and respectable resists.

In other words, a sucker (me) and his iskies are soon seperated. I cant wait to see this bitch go up in flames. Deathmail coming soon!!!

Not sure what kinda fitting skills you have but with the 3 rigs im roughly 200 grid over. Without the rigs im still over by 40ish.

Erm, did you look at the range of those guns with antimatter? 1.9+5km? yeah, that's not going to work so well.

RE: slayerik, I played around with a setup very similar to yours, I had 2 LSE and the frigate killer guns, but I figured using neuts on frigates was kind of silly, and because of range restrictions it's unlikely you're going to be able to be within 10km of your frigate target AND a suitable neut target... so I swapped my PDS for RCUs and went for a cruiser killer instead and posted that.

That said, the powergrid requirements are still stupid insane. Why would anyone fly this ship? It sucks! Low CPU, Low Powergrid!

Oh, and as a joke, I whipped up a similar setup, only I put large shield transporters instead of the neuts.

There is nothing more suitable to use a medium Neut on than a Frigate or a cruiser. All the sudden their point stops working, there MWD turns off, they cant use an active tank, and they are eating 3 light drones and some frig popper guns :)

A smart pilot wont be in trouble, but Neuts can come in handy in a lot of situations...

The PDS does more than just give grid. The Cap and shield recharge gain is VERY handy, it actually had a halfway decent shield recharge. Reactor controls give grid, and grid only. Not that your fit was bad, well besides it being on a bad ship, I just am not sure the DPS is worth loosing all of the above.

Oh you're right; but you're doing about half the DPS using 150mms as opposed to blasters. I really wanted the PDS as well and your fitting is better, I think.

Not great, but hey, if you have more money than sense, go for it.

Of course, you could also just donate it all to me, I'd be OK with that, too.

Yeah I forgot to add them in EFT. Take the rigs out and you're just under CPU with AWU V and sheild upgrades V. If you don't have those skills high enough then swapping the MWD for a named T1 will save you a bit.

Replacing the Antimatter ammo with Void helps with the range problems a bit and also boosts the DPS to 342 and the burst damage to 847 even without the rigs.

Yeah, my setup is basically to survive the "hey its a faction ship, lets like kill it or something."

Not sure why I really want to survive in this thing actually.

The DPS is poor, the speed is poor, but it could serve a purpose...if nothing else than bait.

So, no one has asked the obvious question: WHY are you fitting a Gila? :D

Sorry for the noob question, but what qualities actually make this ship so bad?

The fact that so many T1 cruisers are better than it, at a fraction of the price. It has shitty powergrid, and two different types of damage bonuses (which I personlly hate).  I decided to take the one nice thing about it and pump about 60 million in rigs and fittings to make it tank.

So I'm having troubles taking out BS's with my Jaguar.  Currently equiped like this:
3x 280 IIs
1 missile launcher

Shield Booster II
Arc Gas AB
Kin Def passive
Kin Def passive (switch out according to mission)

Overdrive
PDS
PDS

I'd like to figure out a good way to put two Gyrostabs in the lows. And still be able to tank level 3's (which I mostly do with speed I'm sure - I know I should have trained AC's instead of Arty for more DPS, and maybe I will eventually, but I really like the range) So I noticed if I take out one of the Kin Def Passives, and put in a MAPC I can fit the 2 gyyostabs but then I still have a hole in my mids). So suggestions?

If you want to help your cap, run a Eutectic or Cap recharger II. Cap rechargers don't require a ton of CPU, if that is where you are hurting.

Assault frigs will have troubles killing Battleships, they are just too small. But good hunting to ya mate.

No cap issues at all.  It's powergrid and CPU that are the issue with the gyrostabs put in. I'm just looking for a good mid slot item I'm not thinking about that takes like 4 power.

Only shit I know that takes that little CPU/grid are

Eutectic Cap recharger - 8cpu, 1 grid for  17% better cap recharger

AGM I Cap Charge Array  - 4cpu, 1 grid for  12% better cap recharger

If you are rich you could look at using a rig for your powergrid needs, then replace the MAPC for something else...other than that man i have no idea.

I think I got it.

3 x 280 IIs
1 Missile launcher (II or I or whatever)

AB II
Small Shield Booster II
2x Basic Kinetic Deflection Amplifier (Would rather have the better ones but they are way too CPU intensive on an AF - I'll just up my Shield Compensation skills a bit more and be happy)

MAPC
2x Gyro Stab II's

I looked at rigging it, but just cringed at the thought of 16M or whatever the 10% powerboost was. Wish the shield amplifiers scaled with ship size.
