Yes, you definitely need shoulders to pull it off.  Well, I suppose you really need shoulders to pull anything off because if you didn't have any, everything would just sort of slide off.  Just sayin'.

I've never liked wearing t-shirts with patterns on them. I wear plain t-shirts of varying shades of grey and brown (tending towards the darker shades). No black though, I wore too much black before I lost weight and got sick of it. I have a muted, dark purple t-shirt I'm quite fond of too.

The Affliction Polos are pretty cool. Sigil, if you're self-conscious about your appearance, that might be the way to go. Spare tire? Dark colors until you work it off :)

I picked up one of the Heroes of Suikoden shirts tonight.

Also:

AND for whatever reason, Nordstrom got restock on a shirt I'd wanted (I love me some dark green):

Woot.

Replacing an entire wardrobe fucking rocks.

Edit: Just so everyone doesn't think I've lost my mind, there's a good deal of Banana Republic, Nautica, DKNY, and Clairborne in the new wardrobe also. But everyone knows what that shit looks like.

I'm just disappointed that I cannot even consider wearing this kind of stuff...shirt + tie 5 days a week. Shit, I still have shirts from more than 10 years ago. And they fit.

I've lost about fourty pounds so far, with a goal of 100, so I'm self conscious but I'm also not wanting to buy a lot of stuff while in transition, just enough to keep me from walking around in a tent. Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?

After ten years in Corporate America, I found a job where I never need to wear a tie again. I can go to work in shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops. (And several of my coworkers do exactly that.)

And yet, I still wear shirts and ties.

There's a good example of what I wear most of the time. It's polo shirts with sports logos, or various solid polos of differing shades. I also like golf hats from different clubs I've played around the world.

And I wear jeans or khakis when they are clean. I'm not fashionable, and I don't think I've bought anything I actually wear. Everything I have is handed down from my father, or gifts from birthdays and holidays.

In essence, clothes are sort of meh to me, and I'm 26. I also could not wear the stuff Schild posted without getting my ass kicked in Atlanta. Or kicking my own ass first.

Only if Tiger Woods looked like an adorable innocent altar boy that even you would want to ruffle the hair of and coo, "Aren't you just mommie's perfect little soldier.  Yes, you are!"  Paelos could make a hardened criminal broody.  Although, now that I have kitties, I no longer want to adopt any of you.

These t-shirts are for peoples who get tattoos of Chinese characters without knowing exactly what they mean, or because they look "cooler" that way. But bad ones. Not aesteticly pleasing (to me) and seemingly deviod of meaning. I'll pass, thanks.

Then again, I wear a few band t-shirts. Though they're less busy and the words generaly have more meaning rather than some random label name.

I don't have a problem with a shirt + tie necessarily.

However, my position is entry level, and we have zero contact with the public. Also, there's a bit of manual labor involved in moving lots of paper, especially on my part. The tie simply gets in the way; a polo would do just fine.

Also, having to go out and buy new shirts/pants every now and then sucks. Also, dry cleaning.

In response to Lamaros being an unknowledgable tool about a pretty important document in terms of Japanese and Chinese literature. Yes, yes I did.

Should I have posted about Sylvia Plath or something?

As for Asian stuff, well... I do have a Singha t-shirt. It's red though. I won't be caught dead in red, unless nothing else is clean.

So everyone with anything Asian is actually knowledgeable and not possibly a tool who "likes the look of it"?

Please to be informing the rest of the population thanks, there are some silly buggers going around not adhering to this rule.

I didn't say Asian things can't have meaning, obviously. Responding to things that are actually said and not getting hyper defensive for no reason would be useful here.

Actually, you just chimed in with default ignorant whitey response and assumed the worst. I wasn't getting hyper defensive. I was getting hyper Offensive. Had you actually read the thread, you wouldn't have said what you said. Had this thread been about someone getting the the kanji for 'truth' tattooed across his chest I wouldn't have said a damn thing, unless it was to agree.

I have read the thread. I was merely making a general point about people who wear t-shirts of similar design to those linked in here. It seems you have made up all sorts of other meanings that you need to struggle against. Go for it, but don't be surprised to find me not caring.

Schild, now that you lost some weight you should check out Penguine Clothing its a bit more mature than all that Affliction crap, but is nice quality and usually pretty awesome. They use muted outside colors, with very bright and colorful patterns on the inside and for liners.

Its hard to tell from that site, but their shit is good. I can finally start wearing it now that I lost some weight also. Its like classy yet hip at the same time. And it wont make you look like a thug. In fact picture that jacket you linked a page or two back, and add a very nice silk bright colored flower pattern on the inside and you have a good example of what their stuff is like.

You really do need to see it in person though.
