And expect all the regular forum poster to be class A+ brownnosers. If you want to figure for yourself if this place is straight up just search the forum archives. Look at posts by the staff. In 30 minutes I found out all I need to know. Not a good place to post unless you're in good with the staff. As you see, they posted your IP address. Maybe you dont know wtf that is apparently. But that allows people to track you down

Of course, the admins are too stupuid to figure out that IPs dont really mean crap. And screenshots dont mean crap. But I expect nothing less from American "gaming" forums. Expect the worse from them always. If you want to visit a professional site always make sure "Staff dont post" or keep their posts to a minimum. If you see staf with over 20,000+ posts then gtfo fast

As for this "staff" bullshit, the other main forums I spend time on the "staff" ie mods and admins are just as much a part of the forum community as any other. One is a fansite that's run in conjunction with a retailer and the other is a professional (non-games) site where it's filled with (non-games) industry people in addition to regular users.

Guys, this thread has really opened my eyes to a lot of things that have been going on lately.  In fact, I even went and read a few other threads and discovered that some of the staff are really, really mean to people who don't deserve it.  Just because someone doesn't bother to proofread their posts or only wants to subtly let us know how awesome the game they worked on is doesn't mean we have the right to tell them that they're wrong and that they can't spell and that they should probably purchase a used copy of Hooked On Phonics off of e-bay.

It's a fucking forum. A FORUM. There's no real service attached to this place at all, there's no reason to have a vested interest beyond wanting to post. That's why I don't get forum drama. There is nothing to be dramatic about. We piss and moan in politics and there you'll see plenty of drama, but it's not really board drama, just a place to piss and moan and everyone accepts that. Beyond there you cop whatever moderation you get for annoying the people that run the place or move on, simple. I think I've had maybe 2-3 posts denned and I certainly don't walk on eggshells, if it came to a point where I couldn't say what I wanted to say I'd move on. Your post count doesn't mean anything and I can't think of anything else you leave behind by going "fuck this for a joke, awaaaay".

Wasn't a lawyer at the time, was a freshman in college when Trammel came and I canceled my account.  So law was the next best thing to keep the good time rollin'.  I actually wish I had started my MMO career after UO died in mid-2000.  Getting to play it for a year, and then having it taken away forever, is like having the first alcohol you drink being the finest wine in the world.  When you witness perfection, every other MMO for the rest of your life is dust and ashes.
