Player Merchants

- Player storefronts and city markets are now available. Note: For full details on how to buy and sell items, please see the sticky thread in the Beta Gameplay board on the official forums.

- To sell your wares you must purchase a market bulletin board from a furniture merchant in East Freeport or North Qeynos and hang it on your wall. Right-clicking on the bulletin board will open a window to view your inventory and set prices. You can only sell items in your personal inventory. You can only sell bags if they are empty. To begin selling your goods, press the "Start Selling" button. The "merchant" title will appear in front of your name.

- You must remain inside your home while selling as a merchant, but you are free to move about and interact with objects in your home as well as with any visitors you might have.

- To see items for sale in your city's market, visit broker NPCs in West Freeport and Qeynos Harbor. Right-click on the broker and you will see the option to browse their wares. All items for sale in that city's market will be listed, and you have the option to buy directly from the broker at a markup. Optionally, you can see in which zone the merchant is located and purchase from the seller directly.

- To purchase directly from a player merchant, enter the seller's home and right-click on the merchant. You will then be able to browse their wares and make purchases without the broker markup.

- Black market brokers offering goods from both cities are located in out-of-the-way locations in East Freeport and Qeynos Harbor. The full black market functionality is not yet in place, however.

Looks like HOs are back in and YAY!  more solo content... should have an easier time of it now... which is good for us who mostly play mornings.  It's not always easy to find a group during times I play.

I'm still dl'ing so I can't comment on what this patch may have broken. ;p

Money in banks are broken.  When you try to transfer coin to your inventory, it returns a message that you don't have that much money in the bank.  Items don't seem to be affected.

Crafting xp is SIGNIFICANTLY increased.  Much better, maybe a bit too much better.  I went from 85% or so of level 4 to level 6 in a matter of minutes or maybe I'm just supremely talented.  I've always been rather good with my hands.

On R. Island there does seem to be more roots lying around, so they seem to have slightly incresed resources.  I have not found new types of resources, however, as they stated in the patch notes.

Be careful!!!  When they said there are now traps on the chests that mobs drop, they weren't fooling around.  I killed a gob that was green to me.  He barely made a dent and I believe I was completely healed when I opened his chest.  The trap left me with barely any red left on my meter.  If I had been injured, I would have been killed for sure.  I think these need to be balanced a bit better to your character level or at least to the level of the mob.  You can be killed too easily.  I don't know if only scouts are the only class who can disarm now, but if not, other classes need a way to lower the risk of opening chests.

I have not noticed, at least on Refuge Island, if the solo mobs have been increased.  The areas where I could mostly just find group mobs still have mostly group mobs.  Hardly matters if you are a mage or of low level... you'll probably need a scout around to open chests.  This doesn't help the soloing scenario a bit.  I'm uncertain whether or not everyone receives damage from a trap when grouped, or just the person who opens it.   I'm moody today and should probably keep away from groups until I'm feeling jolly again.

I like the IDEA of traps. But unless they are doing damage scaled to the mob who dropped it, this is going to kill soloing. Solo play is already hard enough, especially for all-melee classes like my warrior, what with all the aggro group mobs in important choke points in dungeons like the fucking awful Down Below.

Have I mentioned yet how much I hate the Down Below?

Rawr!

I mean:

"Arrr!"

MrHat is patching as we speak.

Edit for Relevance:  Wow, huge patch with all sorts of tweaks.  Are they all this big? (information wise, not bit wise).

Yes, information and bitwise. And honestly, All of them together (4 months of them so far) have had less bugs than ONE patch for SW:G. The team is really fucking good.

They have fixed most of the bits they broke.  Geez... that was pretty fast.  They've had tons of mini hotfixes today.  Banks are back in business,  resources, though I still can't find new ones, seem to be spawning faster and there are more of them.  This team does seem to be every bit as talented as the SWG team, and have managed to put together a fun game, for the most part.  With every patch it seems it runs better and better.  I've been able to actually continue to add quality to my settings.  I am so mesmerised by the way the NPCs mouths form the words they are saying that I sometimes forget to listen.

I have done some grouping and it's ok.  I absolutely despise every single person I've grouped with so far.  They are all plonkers.  I'm not thrilled with the lottery form of looting but /random is said to be better.  I'll have to check it out with you guys as everyone else in this game seems to be moronic, so far.  Well, I've been in a bit of a mood, so maybe a wee bit of the blame falls on me.  But not much.  Even during my worst moments, I'm a lovely person.  Really.

I'm ready to bring 2 more characters to the mainland.  One in Qeynos as I'd like to check out the betrayal quest at some point.  I think both schild and Ookii have made guilds (I'm in The Rebel Alliance with Ookii but I suppose we should consolidate and do guildy things at some point.  From what I understand, you can buy horses with guild points... otherwise they cost some thing like 24 gp.  I can't even imagine having 24 gp, at this point.

Tonight I will be dancing with random strangers... just to annoy them.

which is good for us who mostly play mornings.  It's not always easy to find a group during times I play.

Hmmmm, I think that's a sign that Schild should bump someone who's not me in order to give me a beta slot. Since the only times I can play is from Midnite to 11:30am EST, you'd pretty much always have at least one person to group with. Hear that Schild, Baby Jebus commands you to give me a beta spot via this amazing coincidence.

I used to run into Angry Bob all the time in SWG.  Unfortunately, he was always afk.  It would be interesting to game with him while he's awake so he could admire my hairstyle.  And, of course... he is angry.  And he is Bob.

A.B didn't notice that Schild was staring hectically into the sky.  What Schild had noticed was that huge yellow somethings were screaming through the sky.  Impossibly huge yellow somethings.

Before A.B passed away the Earth was going to be treated to the very ultimate in sound production, the greatest public address system ever built.  But there was no concert, no music, no fanfare, just a simple message.

"A.B of Earth, your attention, please," a voice said, and it was wonderful.

"This is Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz of the Galactic Hyperspace Planning Counsel", the voice continued.  "As you will no doubt be aware, the plans for development of the outlying regions of the Galaxy requrie the building of a hyperspatial express route through your star system, and regrettably you A.B are scheduled for demolition.  The process will take slightly less than two of your Earth minutes. Thank you."

"Energize the demolition beams."

There was a terrible ghastly silence.
There was a terrible ghastly noise.
There was a terrible ghastly silence.

Personman knew where his towel was.  AND he had an appreciation for Vogon poetry.

"Groop I implore thee, my froonting turlingdromes."....

Yeah, SWG wound up being a very strange experience for me. I was primarily full-on crafter (weaponsmith/armorsmith) and was constantly mining. It got to the point I was like "I should mine as much of this really great Wioeuieourwier Copper before it disappears and is replaced by crap. Every second I'm not actively mining is a personal tragedy that I can prevent by not spending any time at all where I'm not mining". So if I found a good spot, I'd start my uber all-day macro and macro till the server bounced. Then I'd go clean the house or move to a different PC and play DAoC or a Half-Life mod. When my wife pointed out how batshit insane my behavior about mining was getting and that I was spending hours trying to find the perfect spot in the veins, I couldn't disagree.  Shortly after I decided that it was in my best interest to cancel. To bad none of you still play on that server. If my bank was still there I could give you the hook-up on some peerless quality resources. Copper and Aluminum especially.

Anyway, sorry that I really never got to play with any of you except over chat while I was humping a pack across BFE looking for volitile gas with stats that were above 95%.     8\

Patch pace is one of EQ2's biggest advantages over WOW.  EQ2 has been patching in as much stuff every week as WoW has done every month, if not more.

This post makes me want to squeeze into my badass red jeans.

I am dumbfounded that SOE is recycling loot names from EQLive. PGT, GBS. My God. Either the items are similar in function, ruining any surprise, or they are totally different in function, making the name stealing pointless.

I have never played WoW.

The items from what I have seen are similar in function as in a shiny brass shield is shiny and um brass and its a shield. But the power level of these items are very high now. I am guessing they are going by the ancient artifcts that have been building in power due to their antiquity.

So instead of the vendor bait shield the shiny brass shield is in eqlive you get a shield that actually kicks some major booty.

I think alot of it is as a fun inside nudge nudge wink wink to old school eqlivers doing long quests to get these items that were so popular back in the day.

One thing to note since all the heritage stuff I believe is classed as uncommon or very rare quest loot its power level across the board will be pretty darn high for the levels who can use it.
