So awesome. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ATLUS ANNOUNCES IRRESISTIBLE 2D FIGHTER ARCANA HEART FOR PLAYSTATION(R)2 SYSTEM Humanity's Last Hope is One Big Cat Fight IRVINE, CA - JANUARY 31, 2008 - Atlus U.S.A., Inc., the publisher responsible for some of the best games you've never played, today announced Arcana Heart, a 2D fighter bursting with brawling anime-style beauties, for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. These gorgeous fighters will make your jaw drop with their looks (or their fists). This April 8th, beauty is in the black eye of the beholder! For more on Arcana Heart, please visit the official website: http://www.atlus.com/arcanaheart/About Arcana Heart Beyond our world lies that of the Elemental beings, the Arcana. These mighty spirits offer their abilities to the Maidens, those rare humans who are able to communicate with them. Long ago, our worlds were connected. However, the two worlds unexpectedly split apart, and a dimensional boundary was formed between them, separating our world from the Arcana. Seeking to harness their energy, the mysterious Mildred Avalon is trying to form a rift in the boundary and merge the worlds once more. Should her plan succeed, life on our world will never be the same again. Only the Maidens, with the help of their Arcana, can prevent her from bringing an end to all humanity. Not that great a game though. Who cares! Don't have to get it for my Egret! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcana_Heart

Gothloli, generic schoolgirl (probably either a tsundere or has A Tragic Past), mysterious/aloof schoolgirl with a sword (probably with some kind of 'sworn protector/demon hunter' thing), genki schoolgirl (with, no doubt, a heart of gold), ninja schoolgirl, Chinese girl, teenaged succubus. All it's missing is a yandere, a crossdresser, and a quiet meganekko (porbably with pale blue/lilac/grey hair) to get all the clichés.

They can't do SRT OG.
Or thus far they can't.

Why not? They did the 2 GBA games its based off of..
What's so tough about doing the fancy upgraded version of the same game?
I need more of my ATX team fix....

Licensing.
I would assume for the same reasons they weren't able to localize the vastly superior PS2 Summon Night games.

Sure they can - all they need to go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb!!!

What liscensing? The same nonexistant liscensing for OG 1 and 2 on the GBA? OG = Original Generation. No Anime show mecha period. The PS2 OG game is a complilation/upgrade of the original 2 games which were released in the US in Atlus' usual barely existent print runs.

quiet meganekko (porbably with pale blue/lilac/grey hair) "Green," he said, firmly.

When Banpresto was getting absorbed by Bandai or whoever, I'm pretty sure access to those titles was cut off. I didn't mean licensing of the anime. I meant literal licensing of the game itself.

^^ If true, that sucks balls. But why wouldn't Bandai be happy for money they never had before?
Considering the anime market has taken a giant nosedive, any extra cash should be good...

Bandai has better robot series to milk (like Gundam in japan).
No reason to waste time localizing something that will be super niche.
Bandai-Namco is a little bigger than Atlus. They release very few niche games here.
Still don't know why they practically gave the Naruto license to D3P (But I'm happy about it).

That's why it shouldn't matter. If Atlus wants to give them money and do all the work, why not let em?

That's not how the industry works.
More than that, you have to understand that Atlus is one of the top 10 publishers now. They are a clear and present danger for numbers 5-9. Particularly Bandai as they are very very very much so their competition in Japan.
