or something.

Samwise, Yoru, Ookii and Myself are going. Mostly for the expo.

And to eat and drink.

Is there anything we need to get information on? I think Yoru and Samwise may be around for the days before (you know, lectures and other wankery).

You should hand out business cards.  And, please, trim your stuff before you go.

I was actually leaning towards WW I instead of II.

Hey, I waved at you on Monday, I just had about eleventy billion other places to be. Also, you appeared to be in an interview. The last two days have been spent sauntering around and occasionally massaging the amorphous lumps that pass for my feet.

And it's only Wednesday. awesome, for real

I have to admit, I kind of suspected you climbed the escalator to heaven, and ascended. Because I have not even caught a glimpse of you since!

But thank you for not interrupting the interview ;)

A surprising amount of stuff has gone on off-site, and there's rather little for us press types to see on the show floor. It's a much more developer-centric conference this year (as I suppose it ought to be); there's not a whole lot of announcements or other consumer-facing stuff going on, but a lot more recruiting.

Possibly the result of the giant release glut of late '07.

The show floor doubled in size, but you're right that it felt less E3ish.

But all those silly announcement things shouldn't be here anyway. :P

You could have played with a Pleo, or written about Guitar Rising!

I am hearing that Guitar Rising was awesome; I actually met the GameTank folks at a mixer here in SF a few months ago, but they weren't giving demos at that time. I regret missing their booth on my tours of the show floor. It seemed to me to mostly be middleware stuff like AmbX/BigWorld/etc. I spent most of my time at the IGF pavilion trying out some cool new casual games.

There's a recreation of liquidwars that looks awesome, as well as this bizarre RTS-meets-Pontifex game. I need to go find titles and play them some more. And, of course, AudioSurf.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I got into a behind-closed-doors preview of Mass Effect PC.

In brief? It is Heart

The only really worthwhile things I saw were Spore Creatures and some of the indy games.  Everything else was either old news or not finished enough to form an opinion.  I'll try to write something up tomorrow.
