Stolen from moviecitynews.com

I should mention this entire thing is based of critics Top 10 lists for the year.

Jesus, I only saw 4 movies on that list. Either I am a very discerning moviegoer, or a hopeless shut-in.

Diving Bell & the Butterfly was one of my favorite books ever.  I didn't know there was a movie.

Is "The King of Kong" a mistyping of "King Kong"?   swamp poop  If so, I disagree with its placement on that list.

No its actually a really great documentary about video game players who compete on things like donkey kong. Go see it if you can find it cause its damn funny. Anybody who would read these boards would probably find it interesting.

I should have Googled it before asking.  That does look neat.  Added to my Netflix.   DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Saw half of the top-ten movies:

1) Great movie
2) I know every movie critic is going to rave about this movie, but it didn't do much for me.
3) It was ok.
4) Haven't heard of it
5) Haven't seen it
6) This movie proves that you could have Kitty Pryde read bingo numbers, and I'd probably still watch it.
7) Skipped it.  Look-a like-a chick flick.
8) Haven't heard of it
9) Good.
10) Grandma movie.  Do not want.

I was expecting a picture of a big ass, and all I got was a huge list of movies. Refund please.

300 not making the top 10 made me disregard this list in its entirety.

Hehe... I didn't like 300 at all.   Oh ho ho ho. Reallllly?  Thanks for the list, though.  It'll keep Blockbuster busy since I never go to movie theatres.  I gave up on Netflix when they started taking too long to send films.

Zodiac was decent but in no way deserve a top 10 slot.  Also - one vote for Children of Men?  REALLY?  DRILLING AND MANLINESS DRILLING AND MANLINESS DRILLING AND MANLINESS DRILLING AND MANLINESS DRILLING AND MANLINESS

Critics see movies before they hit wide release, Children of Men technically came out in 2006 (December 25th).

As if I needed still more proof that my taste in movies is different from most critics (read: sucks), I don't see 30 Days of Night anywhere in that list.  I'd have thought it would get at least 1 vote.  It certainly wasn't high art, but it was a helluva lot better than most modern horror movies.

Disagree with 3, 5, and 8.  Haven't seen 2, 4, or 10 yet.  Grindhouse, Stardust, and 300 should have been higher on the list.  Hot Fuzz should have been much higher on the list.  Death at a Funeral should have gotten more than one vote.  Eastern Promises is just about at the right spot.  Lars and the Real Girl is probably the most uncomfortable movie I've ever had to sit through, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Loved Grindhouse.  I just watched Stardust last night.  It was good fun.  Dark Chocolate like Time Bandits.  Plus I LOVE Jason Flemyng.  He's going to be in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt, who I love less but it's another fun story.

I just liked Death Proof, not Planet Terror so much. I'll pretty much love anything with people killing other people with cars.

Half the top 10 hasn't even been released in the UK yet.

That list does suggest that it's actually been a very good year for films because a fair few of the films lower down (and the one hit wonders) got pretty good reviews iirc.  I saw 15 of them but generally only get to see stuff when it comes out on DVD so that's not surprising.

I'm surprised that Knocked Up is at 21 - haven't seen it but is it that good?

I thought Knocked Up was funny.

Eastern Promises... I don't need 5 minutes of Viggo's junk flailing all over my screen, thanks.
