Schild has added those F13/Bat Country members who posted in the "Who's Who" thread to the access list for the private war forum.  If your name wasn't down, you're not coming in.

Also, as mentioned in one of the other threads, I have posted a recruitment post - heavily inspired by Something Awful's Christian Ethic/Stahlregen's goonfleet recruitment post.  If anyone actually joins up, those of us with cash/experience will have to make sure to take the time to mentor them a bit, get them set up with skillbooks and a bit of cash and so on.  We'll also have to take the time to arrange some ops to show them the ropes.

Will you still post the fun stuff (without wardeciding informations obviously) in the open forum?

Sure.  Best way to keep people interested and maybe draw in some more recruits!

By the way, if others fancy posting short "I got to do this it was awesome" type things in the recruitment thread that should help.

You'll get application emails.. I suppose those might be the best way?

Question for you guys: How hard is EvE to just pick up and play? I've never even tried it, but gotta admit, the recruitment thread has me interested. Is 14 free days enough time to learn to play, get a ship and participate in some of the pew-pew?

Have you tried the internet? It's made out of millions of people missing the point of everything and then getting angry about it

Day 1: You will spend most of your time buying the skills us vets tell you to buy. We'll get you some cash and get you in the 'best' frigate for your race. Maybe teach you a little about mission agents, modules for ships, and stuff.

Day 2: Learn the absolute basics of fighting enemy ships through PvE.

Day 3: Join Bat Country - Shoot stuff

Just remember, voice is pretty essential for all this. If you can follow instructions, you can do just fine in this amount of time.

Follow the tutorial and do all the tasks and you get the basics very quick.  The daunting part comes from the sheer depth of the game system.  All the skills, and requirements and pieces you can fit onto a ship. Hell, I never really got GOOD at it all, and I played for over a year off and on.  What I knew was fine for PvE 'ratting' and getting place-to-place, but I was lost when it came to 0.0 play, which is a whole different game.

But, for what they're doing, and the role they'd have you fill with your limited skillset, absolutly you could pick it up and pew pew.

Oh, just be dilligent about getting back to train the next level of skill.  It sucks sometimes, as a noob, because a 'long' training skill will be 2-3 hours.  Miss a morning of setitng a skill and you lose the opportunity to have 2-3 more ranks by the afternoon.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet within your power.

You guys have someplace I can setup a jump clone? I'm mighty tempted to take my main out of the sanctity of Newb Corp and join, if I can rid my head of my implants.

Acica's drives a mean drone-boat, although I'd probably need cash for a PvP ship -- too much T2 stuff on my mission ship, and I'd rather not lose it.

Edited to add: You know what, screw it. I'll just create a PvP alt. Trying to decide if I should go drones again....

People are paranoid about their implants... I don't understand why.

As far as I can tell, the only time you're in any danger is if you jump into a bubble camp -- anything less, and you can easily get away in time. No bubblecamps in hi/lowsec, so just don't go into 0.0.

When you're about to die, have something targeted and spam the warp-to button until you get away. It seems to be that easy. There's simply no way to lock onto a pod in time.

Plus, a full set of +3s is what, 40m? The training time I lose every day that I pvp quickly adds up to be worth more than that. +3s are ~5 extra hours worth of training time per day... that's a lot to lose. I can run lvl 3 missions for a day and get back that amount of cash in loot, bounty, salvage, and mission rewards.

I can get you a jump clone in Providence, or somebody here said they had standing of over 8 with Caldari Navy with their corp and that people could join up to get a jump clone.

My corp has good enough standing with the Federation Navy (Gallente). Anyone is welcome to join up for a day or two to get themselves a jump clone.

EVEmail me (Regel) about it if you don't see me online.

My main's Acica -- I might see about that, since I'm rather fond of the Federation Navy to begin with (I do most of my missioning through Potique Pharma right now. I think. It's been awhile).

I might log in tonight and get my affairs in order. :)

Just to make sure I have this straight -- we have a regular F13 corp, and a Bat Country spin-off that's there for pew-pew. Since I change corps so rarely, is there any real problem with me ping-ponging from corp to corp every few weeks?

I was planning to join the F13 corp anyways. I think my current plan is to get a jump clone and fly that bad boy out to Bat Country area, and gear up in a Vex with cheap fittings. When I got bored with PvP (a few weeks at a time is about all I can take), I was going to switch back to F13's regular corp and jumpclone back to my current locale and go back to missioning.

I could just stay in Bat Country straight, since I'm out in Verge Vendor and I doubt anyone we wardec is going to be out that far.

Since in this sort of thing I am a total newb, what do you guys think? I could make an alt, but I like the idea of using my drone-heavy main in PvP. I'd need to skill up guns (or mount a ton of Nos, since my missioning setup is a simple tank/drone kill with no medium hybrids), but I think my drones will do nicely until I can fit medium hybrids and actually hit with them.

I doubt it, not much differance even at the moment because the latest BAT target wardecced F13 in response as well.

Cool. I think I'll fly out to the nearest office tonight and apply for corp membership (Goodbye Newb Corp. You have sheltered me for two years!) and see about a jump clone.

God those were great ideas. :)

I resubbed yesterday, applied to bat and set up some disposable tackling frigs in sankassen.
I'll try to get some cruisers there too.

I so wish I'd started playing this years ago. This game rocks and I'm sad it took a recruiter poster to get me to enlist. Huzzah.

Once you have jump clones, the best advice I can give you is to PvP with partial set of implants. Keep one with Int/Mem and one with Perc/Will, and even if you get podded the loss will be tolerable.

I have an overview setting that shows only planets in case my ship goes down and I need to get my pod out. Don't think I've lost a pod since I stopped bubbling my own pods in.

I made an alt, Caldari, and am looking to join -bat-. Charcater name is Neevus Kreeve. Is this where I announce my intentions and get put on the list for the private forums access?

Something like that.

Once I approve your corp app I'll submit your name to Schild to add to WAR, but I think he's too busy making T-Shirts.

Here is a friendly poke in the abdomen to whomever is opening access to the other forums. I have one guy in BAT (Neevus Kreeve), and another applied (ZynnLee Akkori) but I have not yet gotten the info on the war forum.

I created a Caldari character for F13 related stuff, Frigate Club, whatever else.  Name is Zzelle.

Doing a bit of skill training and will go find an office to signup in a few days.
