There is one thing about The Matrix Online that I really like.   From what I have heard, when you 'plug in' you can basically choose what skills you want.  So you can basically play a different skill set every day.  If you and your friends are making a group and you dont have a healer then someone can just log out and then choose to be a healer and log back in again.

Sounds very cool, especially from a pvp perspective.

That does sound neat, but won't allowing people to skills every login lead to an even worse version of the "Build" syndrome where there's one overpowered build for each class, and a bunch of skills nobody uses?

Any word on the NDA coming off?

Depends how on the ball the developers are.  The insta-rebuild means that overpowerd FotM combinations will become very obvious very quickly, even among non-catasses (if rebuilding means regrinding, catasses will rebuild quickly but most players will stick with what they've got), which means that the developers can work quickly to address the issue and know fairly quickly if their fix worked.

Or, if the developers were on the ball enough to make sure that the skills synergize well in groups, skills will become more sought after the rarer they get, which means the system naturally balances itself to some extent over time.

(Above opinions plagiarized to large extent from the recent Terra Nova article on respeccing.)

the thing is they can nerf or strengthen skills without too much protest because everyone can just switch to whatever they like.

I will say they have the coolest 'loading' visuals ever.

The matrix-esque code scrolling on everything as it loads IS cool. But... just doesn't make up for a shitty game (E3 Experience)
