In retrospect, this kind of stuff isn't uncommon for them. It always bothered me that they removed my edit button because I edited my messages too often. Now, if I were performing "ninja-edits", that would be understandable, but all I did was improve the quality of my messages. These same guys have vandalized my avatar because I disagreed about how soon you should get a Lightsaber in a Star Wars Galaxies sequel. They're often prone to unexpected fits of rage. As an act, it's cute. Something as heavy as a ban, however, is no act: These guys are genuinely unbalanced.

I am talking about the boards here. And if discussions on the sekret boards should in any way influence my opinion, they should give me access to it. If not, I fucking don't care about them as well (and no, this is no rant whatsoever against those boards. Every forum has them and its 3753 times better than give your inner clique buddies write access to the den). As of right now the only things I read are "We wanted to do it for a month now but today the fancy hit us" and "I lost 20 bucks to an internet bet, which makes Geldon my target because its easier than admitting it was a dumb bet to begin with".

I don't personally care about this banning, but I'm all for calling a duck a duck.

Schild just took longer than intended to ban Geldon.  That's really the only thing that made it look like Geldon was being banned for no real reason.  After his drama queen implosion that resulted in his self-ban previously, I think it was generous of schild & co. to even give him another chance, however brief.  I seem to recall him having some not-so-nice things to say about f13 on his blog that time too, and god knows if I were to storm out of somebody's house while talking shit to them, I wouldn't exactly be expecting to be welcomed back with open arms when I just show up on the doorstep sometime later.  If you really want to see all the shit that got Geldon banned, you don't need access to the private forums.  It's pretty much all out there, if you care to look around.

The thing is, you could probably count the number of (non-spammers) who've been banned on one hand (ok, maybe two).  From what I've seen and heard, schild is actually a much more forgiving person than I think a lot of us would be in his situation, and doesn't seem to take the act of banning someone as lightly as it might come across.  I know, private forums/IRC conversations and all that, and I'm sure I sound like a complete ass-kisser or something, but that's how it is.

Rasix did the banning.  I had nothing to do with it besides making some funny before it all went down.  The timing was purely coincidental; I was a little surprised it all worked out (and laughed pretty profusely).

The lesson here is to ban faster, it seems.  Leniency generates complaints.

It's possible to vote, actually, in an indirect manner by not complaining about Geldon... just as an example.  He was allowed to dodge his ban and had his chance.  The only person I recall that liked Geldon was Falconeer, and I'm probably overstating "like".
