I could pick this up for you. It'll be expensive, though. The full pack with 2 mics is AU$109.95 (about US$95). That's not counting (i'd guess) about $20 postage.

Considering the number of times I've seen the microphone in Rock Band sit unused while people wait for a chance at an instrument I can't see this taking off in the same way. The picture and video sharing is a neat idea and would probably be a lot of fun for middle school girls who are bored with myspace.

It's already a massive hit in Europe though. Thinks there's been 4 or 5 versions already, and they're all million+ sellers.

Correct, Singstar is bigger than Guitar Hero and Rock Band combined.

Not a bad gift. 2 mics, a karaoke machine, a game machine, and a dvd player for 150 bucks.

In my limited experience it seems that most (sober) people are too self conscious to make themselves the center of attention by singing. I'm interested to see how US sales compare early next year. Its definitely a better price point than having to buy instruments with the game if all you want to do is sing.
