Every day there's a specifically targeted Heroic Outland Dungeon that has special drops you turn in for XP (if not 70), gold, 2 badges and rep with Consortium and whatever faction runs that instance.
I see the problem now... Keep in mind, I'm not in a guild and play solo. When I see "Group" or "Dungeon" on a yellow quest, it gets deleted.

I may just roll a rogue or warrior on Venture Co server.
If you want a rag-tag band of occasional adventurers that you know (at least from forums here), there's also Steamwheedle Cartel. I've been playing there quite a bit lately, and as well as my under-geared 70 warrior, I have 'new' 60 druid ready for the outland instances & a 33 shaman among others. Haemish ain't exactly power-leveling at the moment, but he logs onto his 50 priest from time to time. Signe just re-subbed and is starting a character there. Dirty belf paladin or something. Haven't seen Wayabvpar and co. of late - they're either taking a break or doing something on another server.

WoW Wiki for all your needs: http://www.wowwiki.com/Daily_questBasically go see Wind Trader Zhareem in the Lower City in Shattrath and see what he's looking for. Every day there's a specifically targeted Heroic Outland Dungeon that has special drops you turn in for XP (if not 70), gold, 2 badges and rep with Consortium and whatever faction runs that instance. I suspect they give Consortium rep cuz after a certain point you start getting gems in the mail from them. (Or they did in the past - not there yet myself to verify.) Have fun! Once you are exalted with the faction the dungeon is related to, you don't get anything but gold (and I guess consortium rep, but I am exalted so I didn't realize they gave rep). You do get a prison key from the non-heroic, which is 350 easy rep with consortium (or 20+ gold on the AH). The gem bags come from honored on....just talk to the dude in Nagrand. Exalted gives you the best chance at blue gems (I got 4 this month).

If you found one other person to play with you could do 2v2 arena and get some nice gear. You might be better off in 3v3 arena atm since the queue times are lower, but that involves two whole people to play with so....baby steps.
Surely you can find one person on your server you can put up with for an hour a week and form an arena team.

Oh ya....level up cooking and visit "Rokk - Master of Cooking" in lower city. He gives out cooking quests that are easy as can be, net you 12g and a chance at a nice recipe + some fish or meat to cook.

People will pug these every day without fail so you can always manage to get a group. The Consort gems you have to actuality go to the camp in nagrand and get them, they didn't do the mail out thing for some reason.

I play with a RL friend atm. The problem currently is that he's not interested in pvp at all. I'm honestly not sure I'd even want to 2v2 if the guy did... he's not really the type to think/react quickly in a pvp situation. Not to be a dick, but if I can't pvp solo I'm not really interested in it unless I'm running with a solid group. Having run RVR in DAoC for 5+ years, I would rather not pvp than run in a pug that's just going to frustrate the hell out of me.

The best thing to do when you hit 70 is keep your eyes open for a new game to start playing. Your options are pretty much limited to grind rep, or grind gold, or grind instances. Even if you want to play arena you'll end up needing to grind honor or arenas just to get decent gear to compete.

If you form a 2v2 with someone it's just you two unless one of you leaves the team. No pugging to it. Yes people come and go on teams like they do guilds, but there's no randomness about who you're going to be teamed up with in the arena.

As you can see from the Wiki, there are different types of Dailies. You can get started on the Skettis dailies (bombing run, prison break) right away, as they do not require a group. But once you hit Honored reputation with Sha'tari Skyguard (the Skettis folks), you'll get invited to check out the Dailies in Blade's Edge Mountains. Those are all also soloable (and I like them better), but you are cockblocked first by having to do some group quests that involved outdoor elites afaik can't be soloed at all. That sorta bites. There's then the Netherwing Dailies in Shadowmoon Valley, but here the cockblock is you need Epic Flying skill, which costs around 5000g. I will never ever do those. I'll see 5000g about the same time I saw the 1000 I needed for Epic ground mount to unlock Flying mount: about 2 months after I hit the next level cap Further, there's various Instance-related dailies as you know. Those are absolutely group required. But they are also very worth doing if you can. Finally, there's reputation grinding. Most end up requiring instance runs of some form, but The Aldors/The Scryers do not. You can grind those out plan and simple to buy some fairly good stuff from their respective quartermaster. This also works your Sha'tar faction, though not as fast. That also gives great stuff, but I believe once you top out on Aldor/Scryers the only way to continue gaining Sha'tar faction is instances.

It took you 2 months after hitting 70 to get near 1k for a ground mount? What do you do, multiple professions with no gathering, respec every other week AND buy crap off the AH? My priest had the 800g by about 1/2 way through Hellfire Penninsula, and she DE's all her greens and then turns all that wonderful cloth into more DEables so I can level enchanting.
I've gotta know, because you're the first person I've talked at that's had anywhere near that kind of difficulty aquiring cash.

In Outland, greys are like buttah!
I don't get the shortage of cash either. You'd have to be spending a lot on the AH to be burning through just the gold you get from quests and killing stuff/selling greys. If you can't DE green items yourself to sell mats, sell the greens on the AH for a low enough amount that Enchanters will buy to DE for themselves.
The number of ways to make money in WoW really are massive. If you aren't making enough money, you just really don't care much about it. That IS an acceptable answer mind you.

Yea, two-fold problem: 1) I wasn't able to run instances or Raids for awhile due to scheduling issues, but still wanted the feel that gear upgrade love. So I ended up topping out on what could be purchaseable from the AH at the time. 2) I switched professions from Alchy/Herbs to Engy/Mining... and hated mining with all sorts of burning passion (mostly because I was stuck grinding old world ore spots at 70). I think you are or were an Engineer, so know just how much a money sink that can be to skill up without mining. And worse, I did this mostly for the Holo-gogs which are great, but that's an expensive set of Holo-gogs. Luckily later I was partly vindicated by the Helicopter, and of course C4 is always useful (we're light on endgame rogues). It's my own fault really. I've calculated that had I been smart, said the heck with Engy and was able to gear up the normal way, I'd have over 12k gold right now. It really does flow that fast in the Outlands, particularly with the raft of quests I only started doing once I hit 70. I hit 70 just before I got to Netherstorm, and you know of the scores upon scores of quests there.

Yeah, spent something like 2000g to raise tailoring to 350 because the guild I'd just joined required more than 900 +heal, and then they took me through Kara anyway and I didn't need it. I think I spent another 2000g factioning up to exalted Scryers (seemed easier to grind primals and whatever drops than to grind sunfury signets specifically). End result: no fast mount (and being a druid, the slow flying one was free), and just about 1000g to my name, although my character has tier-4 equivalent sets for healing AND DPS, and now that I'm specced raid, I'm kinda limited to just a couple Ogri'la dailies to recover repair costs.
It's easy to make money in WoW but it's also VERY easy to spend it fast. Nobody puts up a warning sign. You make a couple hundred on a lucky drop or whatever and there's a multitude of ways to spend it right away - faction, recipes, gear off the AH, some enchant, whatever. Some people never accumulate more than 200g.

I had a request to post another gear list for warriors, so I'll do that here as well. This is the pre-raiding set of gear any tank should have. Headpiece: Felsteel Helm, It's great until you get an engineering helm if you want to go that route. Necklace: Strength of the Untamed, a CE revered reward. Shoulders: Sadly, there's only really one good choice here and it's Shoulderguards of the Bold off Murmur. And they don't drop well. Shoulders are one of the two very hard things to get early as a tank. Cloak: Devilshark Cape, off the last boss of reg Steamvault. Seriously, I still wear this thing to raid ZA and SSC. Chest: Vindicator's Hauberk A revered Aldor reward. Great stuff until you get 75 badges. Bracers: Sha'tari Wrought Armbands, which is a Quest reward from Auchindoun's Soul Devices. Weapon: Honor's Call, the Honor Hold exalted reward. Shield: Crest of the Sha'tar, the Sha'tar exalted reward. Gun: Consortium Blaster, Revered Consortium. 15 stam stat-stick with extra AP. Trinket 1: Admantine Figurine, which drops off 2nd SLabs boss. Lots of Def there. Trinket 2: Figurine of the Colossus, drops off last boss of Shattered Halls. Lots of Shield block rating. Ring 1: Andormu's Tear, a quest reward from the Caverns of Time. Ring 2: Elementium Band of the Sentry, off the last boss of Arcatraz. A GREAT ring until much later. Boots: Boots of the Colossus, off first boss in Mana-Tombs Heroic. I include this as the only heroic because he's easy to get to. Legs: Felsteel Leggings, yep another Felsteel item to buy or craft. Belt: Sha'tari Vindicator's Waistguard, which is a quest reward from the Arcatraz Key line. Hands: Felsteel Gloves, the 3rd piece for the +25 Str bonus.

I just suck at the AH, is all, I think. Don't know how much to sell anything for, so it always either ends up sitting there unsold for like a month or betting bought out in ten seconds and then resold for fifty times the amount I just put it up for. So I generally just avoid it altogether. Not like I've got anything worth selling anyway, except stacks of medium leather. But that's not really related to the endgame or anything. There's plenty of quests and stuff once you hit 70, and you've got no real expenses aside from repairs, so even I generally don't have a problem once I get there.

I pretty much made a living off of auctioneer when I played WoW.
Get to be good enough friends with it, and use it often enough and occasionly you'll get lucky and find yourself making hundreds of gold in just the few minutes it takes to scan the AH.

If NW is selling for less than 3g25s a stack, it is a better money operation to make them into heavy NW bandages and sell them to a vendor. THe bandages sell for 6g a stack, and you don't make more than 3g a stack profit on selling cloth until it is over 3g25s.

Auctioneer is a good tool, but it's not an instant money making machine.
It is important to know your market and understand what moves it before you get too deep in that game. It's also good to already have some money, because at low cash levels it's a very incremental game.
One thing you can do very easily (no mods required) is when you go to sell an item, take a look and see what else is out there (in the case of trade goods like ore, bars or enchanting mats) or what else is comparable (in the case of BOE greens/blues). Take the lowest buyout price and price yours a little lower. If you want to be extra safe, price it at 75% or lower of the lowest current seller. If someone buys and relists your item, who cares - you still got your money with little risk.
edit: also, thanks for posting that Paelos (I'm the requesting party)

Belt: Sha'tari Vindicator's Waistguard, which is a quest reward from the Arcatraz Key line. Hands: Felsteel Gloves, the 3rd piece for the +25 Str bonus. Good list, definitely start off by buying into the Felsteel triplet from your local AH. However, there are some things folk might want to consider here first, because they're very easy to get before you've built up any significant reputation for some of the above: Necklace: Scryers can get Thalodien's Charm from this chain-ending quest in Netherstorm, while the rest of us make do with Natasha's Battle Chain from this chain-ending Blade's Edge Mountains quest. Shoulders: not heaps worse than the above is the certain quest reward Warchief's Mantle from the mind-blowingly trivial first Caverns of Time instance Old Hillsbrad. Cloak: easily crafted cloak Cloak of Eternity will serve you well until the above drops, somebody can doubtless make it on your server and they may not gouge you for it since its a good skill-up item. Chest: Breastplate of the Warbringer is a reward from the end of chain Forge Camp Annihilated in Nagrand. Will serve you well while you pick up your Aldor rep. Weapon: Gromtor's Charge, reward from a chain in Shadowmoon Valley - starts with this quest for Alliance and this quest for Horde. Only the last two parts of this quite long chain require a group, and its actually a lot easier than most people let on. You can PUG the final parts quite simply. Despite this blue weapon's middling DPS, it will outperform a lot of epics as a mitigation weapon, including Warbringer/Honor's Call, though those will be preferable when you earn them due to the increased DPS/rage generation. Shield: Netherwing Protector's Shield is a reward from the chain-ending Ally of the Netherwing quest in Shadowmoon Valley. Ring: Protector's Mark of Redemption is a reward from the chain-ending Dissention Among the Ranks quest in SHadowmoon Valley. Boots: Flesh Beast's Metal Greaves is a reward from the escort quest that you can do at the end of Mana Tombs. Trinkets: Dabiri's Enigma from this quest in Netherstorm, and Regal Protectorate from killing Arrazius in Hellfire. All the above are crafted or rewards, making them very simple to obtain with minimal effort. Having picked them up, you can work on Paelos' more challenging set. :)

Another excellent list, thanks Righ. Both of these posts are along the lines of what I'd been thinking (with a few good additions I hadn't considered), so that gives me confidence I'm on the right track. I don't want to know what to get. Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. (This isn't just about WoW). Interesting, because it's just lists like this that give me motivation to play. I'm pretty goal-oriented in life as well as play, I guess. Different strokes and whatnot..

Those lists are based on maximizing one's chances at specific encounters. But they are by no means technical "requirements" for play. They're more set by the playerbase themself. RPGs don't do that because they're hand-crafted to make you feel like a hero. I haven't been able to get into one though since Ultima V. I find them academically curious, but not nearly as compelling as the random asshats in MMORPGs

(Or they did in the past - not there yet myself to verify.) They never got mail to work so now you have to swing by their camp in nagrand and pick them up yourself
