Well, my rogue hit 70 the other night and I'm at a loss for what to do. Can any of you experts give me advice on things to do? Faction worth grinding? Mounts to obtain? Please keep in mind that I'm playing solo... so I'm a bit limited.
I'm starting to think that my best bet is just leveling up a horde toon now.

Are you in a raiding guild or have an arena team? no. Daily quest go!! if you didn't try a flying mount its worth it initially until the absolute slow-ass-ness of it drives you to grind out the 5k gold to get the fast one. Other then that welcome to WoW's casual end game, ie roll an alt and level again.

In a guild: PvE - Heroics and Raiding (Basically upgrade your gear.) PvP - Arenas or premade BG's (Thrill of the fight....and upgrading your gear.)
Solo: PvE - Finish all quests! Dailies and PuGs! - Can work on crafting profession too and other small goals like factions. PvP - BG's
Otherwise, roll alts.

Couple of thoughts, off the cuff: - Go to www.wow-loot.com and use their tool to search for gear that you might want. A lot of it is quested.
- Do dailies as suggested - either Netherwing, Ogri'la, Sha'tari skyguard, cooking or fishing (I probably forgot some)
- Do any quests you did not finish leveling. They give cash instead of XP at 70. You should be pretty close to your epic flyer by the time you get done
- Complete the attunement for SSC quest chain (no longer required) - it gives the "Champion of the Naaru" title to your character
- Battlegrounds (get exalted with all three and you get the "Justicar" title (Alliance) or "Conqueror" (Horde). Also war mounts are pretty cheap (30 marks from each BG, total of 30 games if you win them all :) )
- Arena if you can find at least one more willing soul to team with you
- Crafting if you are into that
- Along with doing Netherwing dailies you can work toward your dragon mount, but you need epic flying for most of the chain so probably want to do the leftover quests first (+possibly farm or gather for cash if needed)
I'll edit with more as I think of it...

No requirements, no restrictions ( other than, be horde), other than don't be an asshat. The more the better, and we regularly help each other out. Trucegore, level 21 undead Warlock ( only Necromancer like class they have it seems). Drop me a line/game-mail Whatever. Ill make sure someone with rights ( if i don't have them yet) sends you and invite. I think we have the bare min amount of people, we don't plan on adding randoms...unless they are someone really cool. More of a friends ( you count) and family type guild, thing. EDIT: I think the only thing we don't really have, is warrior type classes...,for your consideration.

Faction is only helpful if you want something the faction provides - crafters will go for this or that faction to get a particular recipe. Unless you're a completist, skip faction you don't need.
Finish all quests in Outlands for good cash.
There's a whole series of daily quests in Ogri'la in Blade's Edge, and also in Terokkar once you have a flying mount.
If you enjoy battlegrounds, play them.
Some people like making twinks and playing them in bgs - just getting to 29 or whatever and leaving it there, outfitting it with the very best enchants and so on. I have a 29 shaman that likely will never go higher, since WSG is a lot of fun as a flag carrier. (Being alliance, I never experienced the fun of playing WSG before since alliance seems to not know how to play very well).
Me, I like crafting and playing the auction house and the battlegrounds. I level alts but don't feel bad if they sit for months. It's nice to have alternate characters to play if one becomes disappointing to play through nerfs, since it will change in the future.

You know, people bitched about timered daily quests in AC2, and low and behold, here they are again as an end-game offering in WoW. Somebody called AC2, WoW 0.8, and you know, that is spot on. Not trying to derail, just sayin'. I can't say that I would want to hit max level and then just run some repeat quests every day. Talk about game over. I think I would only shoot for max level if I planned on raiding. So I would say go for the re-roll on the Horde side.

Well, my rogue hit 70 the other night and I'm at a loss for what to do.
If you plan on sticking with this character, it will be worth your time to become a gold maker for a few weeks and get an epic flyer. If your planning on rolling a new character, I wouldnt bother. The Epic flyer is great, I have trouble playing my alt cause he doesnt have one. What I did was use a combination of questing at 70 in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley, as you get some good quest rewards anf a lot of gold. I ether vendored or AHed every thing I could, and on top of them I would mine and sell the ore and gems on the AH. Adamantite still sells pretty well. You also have dailys for decent gold, and rep. But then, if you plan on playing an alt or several alts, it might not be worth your time.

Yeah, like it's been said, don't grind faction unless you need something that the faction has. You should have Honored already with, what are they, let's see Honor Hold, Cenarion Expedition, Lower City, and I think Sha'tar Guard, from doing quests (if you don't have these, you should probably get them done, search wow-wiki for what you can farm and hand in for rep); you want these at Honored so you can purchase the Heroic mode keys for all the dungeons (just so your "content" is unlocked).
You can also get started on the Karazhan key quest chain; can't be finished solo, but who knows maybe you happen upon a guild doing some of the steps for some of their recruits and you can tag along.
Other than that, daily quests, quests you may have missed in previous zones, farming primals for cash for the fast mount or so you can be set for alts, random instance runs if you feel like pugging them, or PVP arenas, battlegrounds, whatever. You said you want to play solo, but look for a casual guild, most of them are so laid back that it's like being solo anyway, except now and then they might group and do an instance, and you can PVP with them.

Now that I look at it, you might not find a lot of content, depending on what you (don't) want to do. Well... for the 5th time I've burned out on GW, CoH, and DAoC and am considering giving WoW yet another go.
Well, my rogue hit 70 the other night and I'm at a loss for what to do. Can any of you experts give me advice on things to do? Faction worth grinding? Mounts to obtain? Please keep in mind that I'm playing solo... so I'm a bit limited.

October 9 - Dec 11, or 63 days/2 months to 70. It takes me 3-4 months just to hit 60. It probably looks like a lot more content from where I'm sitting, especially since I don't mind grouping/pugging/the occasional raid when I have time. Level up a Horde toon.

Here's my advice. You're a rogue so you're going to want the following factions. #1 - Exalted Consortium: You get a Guile of Khoraazi which is a kickass Dagger. #2 - Honored Cenarion Expedition: This shouldn't be a problem at all with simply questing, and you get Warden's Hauberk which is a really nice 3 socket blue chestpiece. #3 - Exalted Keepers of Time: You get the second kickass dagger to complete your epic weapons Riftmaker#4 - Revered Kurenai: Solid Blue shoulders from this faction Blackened Leather Spaulders#5 - Exalted Lower City: This one is optional, but you get an epic ring with lots of agi/stam/expertise, Shapeshifter's Signet#6 - Exalted Ogrila: Two good things here. First is a nice trinket with a 1min cooldown for extra AP Crystalforged Trinket. The second is the epic leather bracers Shard-bound Bracers#7 - Exalted Sha'tari Skyguard: Two things here as well. One is a great blue cloak, Skyguard's Drape. The other is a second trinket that's epic, Skyguard Silver Cross. #8 - Revered Scryer: Aldor doesn't really have much for rogues, so go Scryer for these blue pants Retainer's Leggings and the enchantments. There's 8 factions that are relatively soloable. You'll have to get groups for a couple of those like Keepers of Time. If you do these factions, you'll have 2 epic daggers, blue chestpiece/shoulders/cloak/pants, epic bracers/ring, and 2 nice trinkets. That just leaves you to collect a headpiece, gloves, another ring, and a necklace. EDIT: To go a little further, you can get those last few items with some simple soloing activites. Helm - Get 14,500 Honor in BGs and 30 AV tokens. That should be relatively easy on any day that's an AV Daily or an AV weekend. You get Gladiator's Leather Helm. Gloves - Save up 1000g. Heh, I know. Still, you can buy Cobrascale Gloves which are great crafted gloves. Ring - 50 spirit shards = Band of the Exorcist Easy epic ring to get if you run any dungeons in Auchindoun if you have the spirit buff. Necklace - It's a blue quest necklace in BEM that's pretty good Natasha's Choker. There you have it, a full set of kickass gear and you don't have to raid at all. Enjoy!

So you know:
Alchemy 370 Herbalism 375 First Aid 375 Fishing 301 Cooking 350-ish
Thanks for all of the tips. It's been a fun ride and the xp adjustment from 1-60 has been quite helpful. I also didn't use any guides on the way. I just hit quests as I ran into them. I have also never just gound out xp on random mobs... pretty much quests only.
I guess I can develop this toon and give some of the BG's a go solo or (as I said) just reroll horde and see life from the brown side.

Level up a Horde toon.
I started playing an undead rogue (stopped at 22), a tauren druid (abotu 20), a human priest (16), a hunter (16), a warrior (33), and now a warlock. The boost to xp makes 1-20 pretty trivial and it can be done in the new areas in a day or two.

That list I posted above should keep you busy well into when the next expansion is released. Then, you'll have some awesome gear to level up with in the expansion...
For three levels, hehe.

The boost to xp doesn't kick in until level 20. 1-20 has always been fast. Also, you can get some pretty good epics from battlegrounds solo. Season 1 arena epics are now available for honor points. However, some people around here will say you're wearing "welfare epics"

Last character of mine hit 70 in around 13 days /played (with some instancing). Wonder what I could do with the new changes or with a class that isn't so damn slow at soloing.

I bet you could level (with no instances) a hunter to 60 in less than 96 hours played now. Esp if it is blood elf or draenei with the uber starting zones.

Paelos,
Thanks for taking the time to type all that out. I think that will give me plenty to do for the next month or so. Once I get that done, I can start to PvP or see if I can find a regular 5 man to run instances with.
I'm still serious about playing with anyone that needs me on the horde side. I may just roll a rogue or warrior on Venture Co server.

WoW Wiki for all your needs: http://www.wowwiki.com/Daily_questBasically go see Wind Trader Zhareem in the Lower City in Shattrath and see what he's looking for. Every day there's a specifically targeted Heroic Outland Dungeon that has special drops you turn in for XP (if not 70), gold, 2 badges and rep with Consortium and whatever faction runs that instance. I suspect they give Consortium rep cuz after a certain point you start getting gems in the mail from them. (Or they did in the past - not there yet myself to verify.) Have fun!
