Steven Erikson (The Malazan books) knows how to write a long series better than anyone because each book doesn't try to update the reader on every single character introduced.

I have never played WoW.

I'm kind of wondering if George RR Martin died as well, and just didn't tell anybody.

For fucks sake, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RELEASE THE NEXT FUCKING BOOK.

Martin admitted that he was having problems finishing it a while back.  You know, when it was supposed to be one book that had to be split in two because he added too many characters.  Oh, and remember when it was originally supposed to be a trilogy?  Nice job there, George.

Look, don't hurry Martin on this.   He's a fanatical football fan and every time the Giants or the Jets lose he kills a Stark.   ACK!

The thing that gets me about the delay in this book is just that it was suppose to be the second half of the massive tome he ended up writing for book 4, which was to big, so they split it.  Thus, the next book was suppose to come out much faster since he just had to finish it up and polish it a bit before sending it to the press.

This was obviously waaaaaaaaaay false, or he ran into the biggest writers block in the history of mankind.

Martin's picture always makes me think of a whaler.

I stopped reading the series around book 10 and figured I'd go through it again when it was finally done so I didn't have to gouge my eyes out over and over.

If you managed to go through the 10th, you should really get the 11th.

As a matter of fact I swallowed one of these about two hours ago and the explanation is that it is, in fact, my hand.
