After seeing a suprising amount of people list Earthbound on their top 20, I figured some people would be interested in this.

Mother 3 (Earthbound 2) [For the GBA].

Japanese only.  No localization.  Ever. 

There is a Rom hacking project in the works, but it looks like a ways off.  For those of you less patient:

So far, a fine translation.  One must worry that the curiously charming and strange writing is not being conveyed correctly, but I feel pretty good about it so far.  I am playing the game with this translation file up, scrolling down as the story progresses, and it works just fine.  You miss out on enemy descriptions, item descriptions, and other optional 'thing in world' descriptions, which is unfortunate.


Mother 3 Rom's are findable with a little bit of effort.  I am assuming I can't link to a Rom site here.  VisualBoyAdvance works well with it.  Not that I'd know.  I've just heard.

Yeah, I've known about Mother 3 for a while, as well as Nintendo's cockfaggotry about not translating it for the rest of the planet.  I hate them for it.

It astounds me that for all their love of money, Nintendo adamantly refuses to bring us another Earthbound.  I love their games dearly, but it's always a sticking point that reminds me they have long since gone off the fucking deep end and will not float back up.

I would buy a Wii just to play a translated Mother 3 through Wii Ware.
