Is the only entrance to Winterspring the Timbermaw Tunnel in northern Felwood? Grinding Timbermaw faction points so I can go through that tunnel unharmed is a pain in the neck.

Pretty much, yep.  Short of having a couple friends, one being a warlock, summoning you in, you'll have to do feather turn ins.

I just want to say that this is the first time I've felt like I was grinding in this game.

Take off all your armor, run through the cave, die. Run back to corpse, rez, run as far as you can, die. Repeat until you reach the far end of the cave. Put gear back on and ride to Everlook.

Just run. You should be able to make it if you are the correct level to get to Winterspring, and if you die, you should be able to make it on your second pass. Also, I *think* the guy at the entrance gives like 3 or 4 quests, and just doing those gives enough rep for the mobs in the tunnel not to attack you.

druids get a spell to port near there. Makes it much more convenient to fly to. so just reroll

Yeah, I think 'Unfriendly' is the minimum faction needed - the mobs are still marked red/orange, but they won't attack you first.

Yup I did the normal Timbermaw quests and I was "Unfriendly" by the time I wanted to go through that tunnel. The repeatable quest where you hand in feathers gives 150 points every time you do it. Grinding Timbermaw really is no big deal anymore.

Just do the normal quests, including the first turn in of feathers and you should have "unfriendly."  That is all it takes.

I've never had to grind rep to get through the tunnel.

I did skip those quests with one toon and did the run.  I think it took one death if I remember right.  Was no big deal.

It's different now.  I've done this three times iin the last few weeks with different characters, and the only thing you need to do to get "unfriendly" with them is the first quest that is available in the southern part of the zone.  There's a single Firbolg there who wants you to kill 5 of each type in the camp to the southwest (RIGHT beside him).  Complete that and you'll be unfriendly.  No need to do a single feather headress turn in if you don't want to.

I just ran until I was almost dead and then popped by Iwin bubble and kept running. When the bubble went down I gulped a healing potion. Not sure what level I was, but every thing had the Level Fuckme skull when I made it out of the tunnel.

Also, another extremely passive way to get there is to wait until the end of January  for the next Lunar Festival and ride a moonbeam there. Though by that time you should be a level where you can just run through the cave with them all attacking you and still be fine.

.. and don't forget to get the flight point FIRST THING so you don't forget and have to do it again.

Witty banter not included.

I actually used that last method on two of my alts the last time it was available.

I don't think I've ever had a problem running a character through there.   Potions and class abilities... a deadly combination.  rolleyes

A quick aside, why do people play WoW like it hurts to die?

Dieing itself is 'losing' for most everyone. That's why any penalty outside of "shit I died" is really retarded etc.

Quite true, and it takes at most 2 hrs with the quests available now to get there. Not much of a grind really. What makes it suck a bit more is other ppl farming faction there.

A lot of people don't realize that grouping for faction works really well there. Everybody gets full points for every kill.

I remember grinding rep back 1.5-2 years ago, that stunk.  It is much simpler now.  The quests are balanced to get you your rep much faster than they used to, so the pain of having to grind beads for 5-6 hours isn't what it was.

I finished up the faction points earlier tonight. The whole process was actually pretty painless- it went by much faster than I expected with all the quests that are available. I had thought about just running through the cave over and over until I made it through to the other side, but I had a quest to turn in with one of the NPCs.

There were plenty of skeletons laying about as I ran through the cave.

Moonglade kinda pisses me off because I cannot get the FP there since I'm a Priest and not a Druid. I feel like I missed something there...

You did. There's 2 flight points in the area and the one up near the houses is for druids only.  There's one down by the entrance to the zone, you have to head right instead of left after you come through the tunnel.

The one for horde is just to the left (west) of the Timbermaw exit.
