Roster in the F13 corp forum, defunct though it may be, list these under your name:

  • Hitomi Ito
  • Kyra Veronis
  • Nixul (as "Nix's alt")

I'm probably going to re-up for a month after this patch shakes out to play with some local friends who are just starting out, and to admire the new shiney. Then I'll get bored and set a 3-month skill again.

I'm playing, doing some pew pew and stuff in 0.0. I got Tragny into my corp, but he hasn't been able to play much recently.

I'm actually pretty hooked right now, my corp has a very strange dynamic that I dig. Even tho they are mostly euros and crazy romanians.

Me! I even have some recent kms on our killboard. After RIOT dissolved I dithered for a while before joining Snigg. I didn't really fit in there, so I left pretty quick. Now I'm in UGH and pleased as punch to be flying with those guys. We just joined CoW. CoW is... Well, I was gonna say CoW is CoW, but they're really not since Art of War left.  Anyway, I like Curse the most of any region I've lived in. NPC 0.0 is the bees knees for casuals like me.

There's a link in the upper right on http://eve-online.com/ that supposedly links to a free 14-day trial, although I guess it's currently down. Anyway I don't think you need a buddy for trials anymore.

I'll probably re-up in a week or two with my builder/trader character.  She's got extremely large amounts of isk tied up in commodities that *should* go up substantianlly (and hopefully keep rising) when the patch hits.

Probably won't resub with Chrome Coyote as EVE's combat just hasn't been doing it for me latey. It's a shame, really; at this point he can fly just about any non-cloaking ship that's smaller than a capital.

I did get my old account back, but I'm still using the trial to see what Trinity is like.

By the by, what's a good character to make if I want to be a mining whore?

OK, you bastard -- Let's see how much damage a duo can do.

I'll be on steam.

I guess I'll re-make a new character and such, since my old character with 2 weeks worth of training on him isn't going to match the new, stronger starting characters.

Miners don't have many friends. You know: like Caracal pilots.

Can anyone point me and Nix in the direction of a noob-friendly mining corp and/or maybe throw a tiny bit of cash our way? I'm "Bhodi B" and he's "Nixel Ridan"

Starting from scratch is rough, but hey, after 3 hours of sweet, sweet mining, I've got 14137 Rich Plagioclase! Watch out universe, here I come!

If only I could find someone to refine it for me, that is... and I have no idea how I'm going to get it out of Anttiri...

What's your character name?  My five datacore alts just hit the jackpot, and I'm happy to spread some largesse about.

If you are truly intent on mining (in which case a 14 day trial is about right before you hate the game  ACK!) then you might want to head to Providence once you're at the mining cruiser stage.  It's 0.0, but CVA and the rest operate a pretty strict NRDS policy so if you're not retarded about it you're pretty safe there.  I know that Tri just war-decced Paxton, Sylph, Severance and CVA, so it's a bit busy right now, but that still leaves a couple of others.  You don't need to be in one of the local corps to mine or rat there, anyway, although access to a refining POS can help.

That said, veldspar is so insanely profitable right now thanks to crazy low-end prices that you might not bother.  I dunno.  The way of the miner is arcane and subtle, and I do not meddle in their plans.

We're "Bhodi B" and he's "Nixel Ridan", though Nix has like a dozen characters spreading back through the last 3 years.

We'll see where I am in 14 days; Last time, I tried straight combat and ratting was definitely not for me. I'd probably like the pvp aspect, but I really had no ability to fund my endeavors. I just didn't like ratting, I thought it was boring and frustrating to loot the wrecks :) The "new" warp to 0 helps soooo much.

I never hit 0.0 though, or joined a large corp. As strange as it sounds, Mining seems fun, at least for now. I do want to head out into 0.0, and thanks to Drubear I'll be in a osprey in about an hour, but what I really need is to hook up with a mining corp so at the very least I can get my ore refined, and show me the ropes on this mysterious business.

Veldspar is crazy profits right now? I was playing around with the markets and calculators trying to figure out what was valuable; I wasn't in the jita region I guess, so the prices seemed pretty flat. Then again, I was just trying to get the hang of the game, I wasn't looking to make record profits in my frigate -- I need at least a cruiser to start doing some "serious" mining for myself. For the next week or two, I'll be skill limited as I ramp up to my moderate cruiser potential. The flying speed is still annoying, I need to get me some MWD.

What other stuff should I be looking to fit on an Osprey? All the builds I've seen are focused on pvp or ratting. I'm looking at 3 t2 mining lasers and one or two mining upgrades in the low, (1 for now, 2 later) an something to speed me up for docking. I have all these missile skills so I guess I'll be going with a heavy launcher, and I guess some sort of shield hardener or expander in mid.

Any reasonable corp will provide frigates and t1 fittings for free. UGH does, for instance, and is currently accepting newbs in the US/Aussie timezones. I think a lot of newbs think, "OMG I need SP and a BC/BS/HAC before I can compete in PvP." This is not true. What are really useful in PvP are skills and gangmates, not SP. Tthe only way to get skills is to hop in a frig and start dying. The only way to get gangmates is to find a corp.

It's like people jump into a game of Counterstrike and then start a lemonade stand selling drinks at 50 cents per pop to be able to afford a sniper rifle. It's far more profitable and fun to start killing bad guys.

Try out the new corporate registry and find a corp with no SP limit with a focus on skirmish warfare or piracy. Or get someone on F13 to pull you into a corp; I certainly could sponsor anyone interested in UGH.

An expander will probably serve you better than a hardener.

I'm back in for a month at least. Yaeru, as always, now with Gallente Battleship 5. smiley

Gonna be training up a batch of RL friend newbies in the ways of PVP or something. I think they want to go pirating. Hard to tell. Newbies are confusing.
