I turn 23 today. I did not get the present I wanted, which was awesome, for real on a t-shirt. Oh well, I'll settle for what I got.

This year marks the 23rd year I've been playing guitar (not contiguous, though).

Your being 23 doesn't make me feel old. Realizing Van Halen's 1984 came out the year you were born, that the VH golden years were entirely pre-you? That does make me feel a little old.

It's the day St. Odo died.  Shagrath... the one from Dimmu Borgir, not Lord of the Rings, was born, though quite a few years earlier.  If I were single, I might have a crush on him.

Yes, I do feel old.

It was my birthday too!   awesome, for real

Every year I am reminded of what occurred on my birthday, the Jonestown Massacre.

And Mickey Mouse's 50th birthday.

Go figure.

Hmm, 1984. Would have been still writing text adventures in BASIC and playing games off of 5.25 floppies on my C64. Hell, I have friends who have daughters nearly old enough to date you whippersnappers.

Happy b'day anyways.

Hole-punched double-sided floppies ftw!

In 84 I was running a BBS at night off my C64. It was half skate BBS (cool locations to shred) and half Ultima hints. I was one of the original spoiler sites, and fee-based to boot!

If you didn't sort cards or play games on a teletype printout, I don't want to hear it... damn kids.

In 1984 I was playing football in college and working part time at a local chain electronics store in Minneapolis.  You may have heard of it... it was called the Best Buy Company (formerly The Sound of Music).

Excuse me, but I was repairing tty starting in 1976. Damn silver contacts oxidize and were a royal pain in the ass. If you haven't spliced a paper tape (program or data), I am not impressed with your experience. The worst thing that could happen to you when I was going to school (1974ish) was one of those foxes from secretarial studies wiggle in front of you while you are standing in line to place your punch cards into Que and cause you to drop your punch cards. The only game I remember playing with a TTY is hunt the wompass and I was an ace at it.

I started with nothing, and I still have most of it

I'm not a complete idiot... Some parts are still on backorder.
