As I find good sales for Black Friday, I'm going to keep adding them to this thread. Currently I'm progressing google by searching for "black friday" sale.

Orange Box and Bioshock

XBOX360 and GHII

More to come as I finish traversing the website.

From Circuit City:

Acer 22" LCD
500GB External HDD <--- I might pick that up, that's a straight sweet deal.
Zelda DS <--- If you love Zelda, this is for you.
XBOX360Pro with extra controller <--- If you don't want to pay NewEgg's shipping.

Ahem. $79.99 after $50 rebate isn't a deal.

Just wait for the prices to drop or get an internal. Or better yet, wait for eSATA.

What'd I miss? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=50001305+40000414+131021357+1310221309&name=500GB&SpeTabStoreType=0

I use externals for trip pictures, schoolwork and whatnot.

I admit I didn't do a jackload of research and just used what I thought was a good price, but I thought it wasn't bad if you don't mind MIR's.

Fail.

Rebates are splendid, they can load up great deals because most people are too lazy to send them in. In addition to the great price I got on my tv, I got a $300 rebate, too.

Rebates suck for me.  As for external drives, these days I make my own using a Rosewill enclosure.  Get two or three of those and suddenly your Sanfordian empire of garbage disks becomes a cornucopia of cheap storage.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

I mail in ALL rebates.  I see checks from about 60% of them.  I think this is where the sentiment stems from.

Gwaha?

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

Im mostly done with my holiday shopping already.

All I want from Black Friday is Net sales of cool shit cheap for me on nerd products.  I went out EARLY shopping at a TRU one Black Friday.  It was one of the dumbest things I have ever done.

So far I know that the Warstore is having a BF sale online so I am hoping to get AT 43 miniatures dirt cheap.  I hope Thoughthammer and Multiman Publishing have some sales going on too, so I can gets me some more wargames stuff cheap.  Poppa wants more Advanced Squad Leader and Federation Commander products but is a cheap bastard.

Pretty much all I'm buying for Christmas this year (other than some toys for the kiddo) is a new TV.  Don't even care if it's on sale at the moment, if the sale price drops before Christmas the store will refund me the difference (no, I'm not getting it from Amazon, it was just a handy link)

Damn that's a good price.

Is 5ms fast enough for things like TF2 and Crysis? CompUSAs are opening at 9pm local tonight and according to their Check Availability function, most places have them in stock (not online though).

I believe anything at or below 8ms is usually OK for games, so 5ms should be fine.

I love rebates.  As long as you're diligent about sending them in as part of your usual upkeep routine, they give you incredible details.

Example: I like my cell phone a lot - got it about 7 months ago, 2 megapixel digital camera, 4gb MP3 player, works well in general.

cost? negative $99.99.  Free (well, $0.01), plus a $100 dollar rebate, so long as I re-upped my contract.  Much <3 to Amazon.

Back in high school, I used to fill out all those "complete a sponsor offer and get a free $50 gift card!" promos, along the same lines.  I had dozens of cancelled-the-same-day-I-made-them AOL trial accounts, and easily collected hundreds of dollars in gift cards in exchange for maybe a few hours' goofing around, total.  Those deals function on the same general principle; enough people screw them up, usually by being lazy or haphazard about filling things out, keeping organized, hard-copy documentation, etc., that they can offer you free money and still stay in business.

Black Friday sucks this year.  Very little in the way of genuinely exciting deals.

I got the ZOMGFATALONETY X-Fi card for $50 off, making it like $85, in line with sane sound card pricing. Also snagged the Creative DTS-610. Hopefully this will put to bed my lingering sound issues. My Auzentech is a great card with onboard DD5.1 hardware (like the Soundstorm!), but the drivers SUUUUUCK. Crashy. Tired of a crashy pc.

Hopefully this fixes it undecided If not, I may give in and buy a 360 for myself for xmas.

I still think having sales on Boxing Day makes more sense...for the consumer, at least.

Agreed, I saw a news story that claimed less than 50% of rebates were honored... The companies count on that. They put in fine print so they can get out of paying them... and often just simply never send you anything... and there's nothing you can do about it. Taking up to 6 months to send you the money? Really? Not happening.

Well, not being a dumbass helps. Read the fine print. Jump through the hoops.

If they never send you the money, litigate.

But you guys go ahead and skip rebates. More money for me.

Litigate over $50? You've clearly never sued anyone before.
