Anyone have a link to a Direct Download of the patch?

According to my downloader, the Patch Tracker is down, so i am stuck at 79% completion and it hasnt moved or connected to anything for hours.

Same, except I'm stuck at 97%, making it that much more frustrating.

My preferred patch site used to be http://a.wirebrain.de/wow/ -- not sure if they have 2.3 yet, though.

I fear for what my experience will be when I get home from work (6pm MST).  I'll be in the heart of primetime trying to download a patch.  Having a job is incompatible with playing mmos!

You've probably downloaded almost all of it already, assuming you've been playing lately.

I did notice a patcher running in the background the past couple of nights.  If this is the case, then you've made my day.

Thanks.

Yeah, leaving the background patcher on is the best idea.  I patched in about 30s today, because I'd downloaded all the info over the last few days.  If I notice any kind of chugging or latency problems during play, I log out set it to "download after I've exited WoW" and leave my computer on until the next morning.

Those of you choking on slow downloads it's becuase the rest of us aren't running seeds/ the patcher for you to leech the file data from.  Same problem as it ever was.. it's not that the torrent patcher is horrible (not that it's great) but that it completely shuts-down after you're done patching, so there's nothing for anyone to get the data from.

Does anyone have any idea why the downloader doesn't work for some people where bit torrent clients do? I personally don't have problems anymore but I used to, even when other torrent clients worked fine.

It requires more ports to be open than usual BT clients.  You have to have all the B.net ports open as well as whatever the Warcraft ones are.  It's on their FAQ page (or was..)  Once i opened up the B.net ports on my old router I got a decent boost in the DL speed.  This newest one I haven't had to do it for, for some reason.. I should probably worry about that.

Oh, I guess that explains the previously unnoticed correlation between my starting to play DotA and my downloader woes ceasing.  Ohhhhh, I see.

Solution has been found!

Step 1: play Diablo 2.
Step 2: ...
Step 3: profit!

Witty banter not included.
