Did anyone else catch the season premiere? For some reason I feel like I'm the only one here who watches this show.
Anyway, it raised the bar for season premieres. Alias, which had some of the best - particularly the season premiere of season 3, after Sydney's 2 year disappearance - has been ousted. By far one of the most cinematic TV experiences ever.
A harrowing journey.

Shockeye, fuckj00dieplzkthx. Smallville is love.
It's on the WB, sky. Though it shouldn't be. This episode was far beyond that of HBO shows (in both quality and entertainment value).

The WB and Yes. I've heard good things about the show, but the previews never seemed to entice me. It seemed too teen angsty (this from someone that actually watched Dawson's Creek) and Supes has never been one of my favorite comic book heroes.

Supes has never been one of my favorite comic book heroes. He wasn't one of mine until this episode. The character development here is as good as Aaron Sorkin could ever hope for in a tv show. The drama is as good as JJ Abrams could ever hope for and...Tony Soprano is a weak-minded infant compared to Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor. That said - every single one of you, start watching this show. The first two seasons are out now on dvd.

You thought the plot twist that had Sydney disappeared for 2 years was good? That was actually the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I watched the show quite a bit until it became filled with rediculous cliches like that. The whole Rimbaldi thing turned the show into a series of prophetic conspiracies, allowing them the freedom to throw in any random plotline they could think of and make it 'pertinent'. In my opinion they just took an interesting idea and sent it waaay overboard.
The dynamics of her father and Sloan were well done, though. I actually liked the show a lot before it focused completely on the prophecy nonsense.

I tried watching Smallville during the first season, and got tired of the following formula plot:
1. Something STRANGE happens. 2. Clark INVESTIGATES, and figures out who the BAD GUY is. 3. Clark confronts the BAD GUY, only to be thwarted by CONVENIENTLY PLACED KRYPTONITE. Clark LOSES. BAD GUY gets away. 4. Clark recovers. Clark tracks down and confronts BAD GUY again. Clark WINS.
Seriously, the kryptonite thing got real old. It's in the mine! It's in a ring! It's in a pendant! It's in the coach's steam bath! Please.
Having said that, I've caught a few episodes since and I think it's pretty cool the plot lines they've been following the past year. And having Christopher Reeve on was great. But I just can't get enthusiastic about the show.

The WB is only good for watching Simpson's reruns. Anything else is likely to give you brain cancer.

The WB is only good for watching Simpson's reruns. Anything else is likely to give you brain cancer. Gilmore Girls and Smallville. Don't you people have some fucking taste? Smallville is almost as good as Lois and Clark - but consistantly better on the technical front. Lex and Lionel are two of the best villains on TV. Get over yourself. WB is for more than Hangin' With Mr. Cooper.

For some reason, I never watched this show. I didn't like the idea of Clark not being aware of/not being able to use his full set o' powers. But I have to say that after catching last year's finale repeat and this week's episode, I'm hooked.
It was definitely one of the best season premieres I've seen in a while. It bridged last season, tidied up things, and created/expanded several interesting story lines going forward.

Gilmore Girls makes my testicles shrink up into my body. I cannot imagine how intelligent people can stand to watch that form of dialogue and delivery.

WB is for more than Hangin' With Mr. Cooper. First of all, its a show based on a comic book character. I don't like comics, so strike one. Second, its teen drama, and no matter how you slice it, it gets old. Third, the one episode I watched with Clark coming to terms with his heat vision was ridiculous. OH NOES I'M SEXUALLY AROUSED, I MIGHT LIGHT YOU ON FIRES!!!!1! As for the Gilmore Girls, please grow a penis. That is all.

WB is for more than Hangin' With Mr. Cooper. After what they did to "Angel" the WB will not be on in my house. I will just sit in a corner and dream of the day when "Mr. Belvedere" season 1 hits DVD.

I watched the first season, and most of the second seasion, untill it started going up against The OC (Which I am required to watch, since I live there).
I am bummed I missed the premiere, I didnt know it was on.
On the other hand schild gets two big *SMACK* and *SMACK* for actually using the word Hizzouse. And another mocking laugh for using it in a headline.
Every one point and laugh now.

I had to stop watching when I got sick of the cut and pasted Clark/Lana dialogue that seemed to be at the end of every fucking episode where Lana whines about trust and keeping secrets, and Clark somehow manages to resist shouting "I've got superpowers like half the other people in this fucking town you fucking halfwit!". We know they don't end up together so why did they have to draw that shit out for two seasons.
I also can't take a show seriously when Bo Duke gets superpowers for an episode.

How the hell do you think the General Lee always managed to clear the jumps? Because Cooter poured his heart, soul, and a bunch of moonshine into that car every time he worked on it for the Duke boys.

Yes, the Dukes would be nothing without Cooter. And Waylon Jennings. Don't you people have some fucking taste? All I watch for fictional tv series is the two Stargates, though I kinda like Deadwood. Other than that I mostly watch educational tv or movies. I wouldn't know a good new fictional series, I never spend the time watching an episode to see if I like it, aggravated by my almost complete refusal to watch commercials.

This episode was far beyond that of HBO shows (in both quality and entertainment value). I'll give you that you were only saying the one particular ep, but you were drawing the comparison. I've watched it a few times. It's a better show than most of the crap on tv, but HBO has a goddamn darth vader death grip on making good tv series.

A-FUCKING-MEN. But they also cancelled Peacemakers, that Tom Berenger western, which was a decent series that I always forgot to watch. Good to know they'd have cancelled it whether I watched or not.
