Figured we could have a thread that could alert people when there is a Wootoff, just revive it every month or so.

BTW:

THERE IS A WOOTOFF

Woot.com is a website that sells high tech shit cheap. It's normally surplus shit or stuff that needs more press in the geek/early adopter community. But sometimes they launch BRAND NEW items. Razer has done some launches there.

They sell one item a day normally, at 10PM PST. During a Wootoff, it's one item after a number.

All items are always limited.

Wootoffs are how geeks SHOULD shop. Thank god most don't.

not quite sure what is worth posting about, maybe there is some additional unknown content available if you actually sign up for the service.

I have yet to see this, it would nice to know what item to get excited about as opposed to warbling wootoff!!! and driving people to the site to see a radar detector, or maybe it's the craptastic upscaling dvd recorder?  either way I am underwhelmed a bit.

the prices are good but unfortunately the items usually aren't all that desirable, but who knows maybe we will see some vastly discounted UO game cards there today!

I've gotten all kinds of weird crap from them. Half-price Razer mice, a vesa mount for my lcd, Razer Barracuda headphones, an 84" 16x9 projection screen (I don't have to show 16mm films on the wall anymore), lots of things.

It's not a store so much as someplace to check occasionally to buy things you didn't know you needed, or cheap.

I got a portable DVD player (no region coding and skips ad shit), a Nokia N700, and 2 for 1 pcmcia wifi cards from them. All dirt cheap. I missed out on the 2 for 1 USB gamepads for $14 :(

Damn, I missed the mice? I really need a new mouse. mine's freaking out in TF2 now when I try and turn fast. I've still got a plain old optical mouse. I hope the laser ones have more updates per second because I think that is what's freaking the game out.

A friend of mine got the dyson vacuum cleaner a few weeks ago.. that was a pretty sweet one.

The roomba makes living with a cat much more tolerable.  I just turn the thing on a couple of times a week before I head out and come back to a clean(er) house.

My cat ignores the roomba, until it thwacks his bed. He just sits up, stretches and moseys on over to another spot out of the way of the robot.

Fuck I still dont understand digg/rss feeds stuff.  I just sort of ignore it and assume its some sort of stupid way for bloggers to circle jerk ecah other or somthing...

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

Me neither. I just have a list of bookmarks I go down.

Also, w00t is awesome. I got a cheapass 20gb mp3 player there. Sure, it's about twice as thick as an iPod, nto sexy at all...but i was about $65, and it gets the job done.

Just get a job as a beverage buyer. I get free wine all the time, no woot.com needed.

Razer Pro|Type keyboard.

The white looks better than the black. It's not a great keyboard for people with big hands, but Agnarth has the black one and loves it.

My desk tray already has a wrist rest on it, so that bottom part of the KB would shift the actual keys way too far back for me. =/
