That little popping sound you just heard was my mind being blown.

Honestly, Inside the Actor's Studio wouldn't be half the show it is with anyone else hosting it.  The man is in this sort of Adam West zone that defies parody.

No shit.  Of course Lipton is a pimp.

I'm not all that surprised since he did say he was "very, very young" when that was going on.  I had a friend who did a bit of that while living in Romania while on some contract for tech work.  It was a one time thing which didn't last long and never did again.  A lot of us have done odd things in our past.  Look at me!
I used to be a girl and now I'm a wife!  Who did YOU used to be?   my what do we have here?

I've been known to be paid to keep my clothes ON.

How does it make sense for the minimum bet to be $15 on a hand of blackjack on a front of house table?

That's the casino part, yes. I'd have thrown away some of my money if I could have lost at a slower rate though. Still, it was entertaining to watch others do so.

When I was very young I cleaned people's houses and did their yardwork for 25 cents an hour. Back then, it was called "child labor". Aahhh, memories.

(I actually did do this for real - my mom's coworkers used to take advantage of me in this way. I even had to clean the inside of someone's fireplace once! And that's no metaphor.)

I thought this thread was about the guy who made soup.

I actually have only see Inside the Actor's Studio a few times and couldn't understand the appeal. The host freaks me out too much to be entertaining.

I dig it, but I have a little experience/interest with filmmaking and theater workshops. Why the show is so popular with others though, I don't know.

I think the SNL sketches helped it enter into the popular consciousness.

Then he would ask them about their performance later.
