I put the 'shill' in 'cockmonkey'.

1. Recover from vacation. 2. Put in winter lawn. 3. Go to UofA football game. 4. Go to Avenue Q.
Which all insures the following on Monday
5. Attempt to catch up with 2 weeks of work (and 2 weeks of missteps while I was away. Fuck, how hard is it to read a schedule, people?) while being dreadfully exhausted and/or sick.
You live in NYC? We just had family come to town over the past 3 days and they went to see Ave Q. They loved it. Im embarrased but will honestly admit I never knew the music from the World of Warcraft "The Internet is for Porn" video originally came from this musical. My fiance and I will be flying from NYC to Columbus, OH for the marathon in Columbus this weekend. After running we are going to check out the Ohio Ren Festival.

Righ going to another Porcupine Tree show I went to see them last night, 10/19 in Hartford, the show was excellent, I must say however, the opening band "3" really blew me away, I was really really impressed with their live show, and the crowd seemed to really get into it too.

I saw '3' twice on the last PT tour, where they were also the support band. In NYC I thought that they were just so-so, but that singer/guitarist Joey Eppard was really impressive. In Philly, their sound man decided to raise the volume to ear-splitting levels. I left the building and waited for the windows to stop rattling before going back in. In NYC last weekend, PT had Head>>Fake as support. They are Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun - the rhythm section of Living Colour, but they do something more in the style of Tack>>Head, one of Doug Wimbish's former projects. I loved it. In Atlantic City tonight, its '3' as support again. Hopefully they'll play at more sensible levels (I doubt that the PA at the Trump Marina has the power of the Electric Factory in any case).
But its all about Porcupine Tree for me. They're just phenomenal.

How was the 3-D experience? I'm curious to know how a flick that wasn't made to be be viewed that way would come out.

Replaced the heater air filter, took out the garbage, almost finished the X TV anime (had to stop at the last episode when my son woke up - I think it gave him nightmares), played the trial of LotRO (Gladden, a Loremaster and a Champion), played CoV, tried a new kind of scotch, and did some work on the orders spreadsheet for the monster 4X PBEM I've been slowly writing rules for since 2002.
Thrilling, no?
I'm on post-Mass Effect vacation all month. I ain't doing shit.

You should be happy to know that I'm from Ontario and love the Canucks, Bunk. Not all of us blindly follow the leafs.
I do. I was at a party on the weekend in Ottawa, and someone shook my hand and said she admired my tenacity as a leafs fan. Wtf, are we the new Chicago Cubs?

Well, 3 were a lot better this time around - reasonable rock concert loud, second guitarist did parts that fitted the songs better, more songs from their recent album. Pretty good all in all. But Porcupine Tree were much better still. Great gig.

There's a travelling show of Ave Q now, so chances are he may have hit that. At least that's my plan for December when it comes to Baltimore.

I begrudingly get up for work and decide to persue digg to alleviate my drowsy state, whereupon I learn that techcrunch.com makes 240,000 dollars in advertising a month.
That blog's a piece of shit, the only reason I know of it is because they get all their 'top 10' lists dugg, it's probably the only reason they're popular in the first place.
If only f13 made that much, although we would need the entire right hand side to have two columns of ads like they do. And then I wouldn't have to go to my crappy job.

The site has an Alexa ranking of 656. Most of the time those rankings don't mean a whole lot, but once you get into the top 10,000, and then top 1,000 most popular sites on the internet, the prices you get offered to place ads on your site go up substantially.

I have to admit, I've owned "Wake Pig" by "3" for probably close to a year, and it really didn't impress me, just seemed really generic, but that whole Flamenco style slap guitar that Joey Eppard was doing was something I'd never seen before, definitely a band that is so much better live than on CD. I'm really not a Porcupine Tree fan, I only own Deadwing from them, but I really liked the songs they did with the video backdrop, I just have no idea what songs they were or I'd go grab another album or two. It's definitely not my normal style (I prefer more "traditional" metal and death metal stuff), but I think I can convince the gf to listen to them, so it's better than her putting country on. EDIT: Found them, Anesthetize and Sentimental seem to be the ones I was looking for, score 1 for the gf for borrowing the new CD from a friend to check them out.

Yeah, the videos are mostly to the last album, Fear of a Blank Planet. This tour the more laid back numbers My Ashes & Sentimental have only been played at a couple of shows each, while Fear of a Blank Planet, Anesthetize, Way Out Of Here and Sleep Together have featured at all the shows.
