Update:

I talked to my friend at Boeing yesterday. He said his recommendation, and the recommendation of their one and only Unix server admin (the same woman who tried to get me hired as her assistant) means the job is mine to lose at this point. They were excited I had an A+ and want to learn Unix as well.
