Most places had it listed as shipping on the 15th. So I assumed it would be in stores today.

I played the demo.  Why was I not excited?  I'm starting to think it's a problem with demos.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

I saw the demo being played and was unimpressed. It seems mildly amusing, but no where NEAR fun enough to warrant dropping $60 on it. What am I missing?

Did you play ether of the first two? If not, your in for a treat. Katamari is just fun. Now, paying $60 for it is a bit steep. I think the original PS2 version was $39 at release, hell, it might have even been $29. But the game is just fun and addictive.

Ill be getting it.

Oh yeah, good luck getting the song out of your head.

This one is $40. Called Gamestop at lunch. Picking up after work. For the music. :P

The day I buy a game for the music is my last day as a gamer (music-centric games like GH and Karaoke excepted, of course). My first action in any game is to go into the options and turn the music off, or down to extremely low levels.

You obviously have not bathed in the glory that is Katamari's opening theme song.  It changed my life.

Uh, Katamari is a game about music if anything is. The game itself is supposed to put you in screensaver mode.

Dude.  Katamari. Xbox 360. 40 dollars.  Rolling up shit into a giant ball with crazy Japanese music playing. Even crazier Japanese shit happening before and after the rolling.

YOU BUY NOW.

I'll probably beat this in 2 days and it'll likely be worth it alone for the achievements, the music repeating in my head, and seeing the world for the next few weeks as potential building blocks for a japanese borg cube.

I keep eyeballin' this game since I never played the originals and wouldn't mind stepping outside my gaming comfort zone and trying something different. For $40 I think I'll have to give it a whirl.

Word of warning. Might have the worst music of the 4. Definitely worse than the PSP version, which had the best music, since it was basically a best of compilation.

The music is totally not as catchy as Katamari Damacy (the only other one I played) kind of disappointed by that. But still fun as hell.

Also, it may just be me, but this game is harder than the previous 3.

Hmmmmm.

It's harder to get good rankings. The game itself is still super fun. Except for the obsessive compulsive and then it's a challenge.

The music is still a cut above 90% of the industry. So, heh, it's just not Katamari Damacy 1 or 2.

I absolutely crushed Katamari Damacy, and We Heart Katamari (3860M Katamari EAT IT!).  I don't have a PSP, so no love there.

I agree Beautiful Katamari is harder to get good scores.  I got it, and beat it tonight (got credits, and bonus thingy, and post credits bonus thingy), but I will have to go back many times to get at least 95+'s.  I found myself getting a lot of 30s and 50s.  Embarrassing!

Funny when I type that out, because they are such mellow games, yet I get competitive.  I look forward to leaderboard crushing, or at least Friends List leaderboard crushing :)

The music did not grab me right away, but as I continued, it did grow on me.  So far there's no horrible song, but no great either.  I think the first one still has the best soundtrack.  The gameplay in Beautiful, is by far the best.  It moves fast, no large loading when you change sizes, incredibly detailed objects (compared to the PS2).  Just flat out pretty.  Even a nicer interface than the previous versions.  I dig it.  Can't beat for $40!

oh god how did this get here I am not good with computer

I just wanted one song as good as Everlasting Love from We Love Katamari or Katamari on the Rocks from the 1st one. I don't think I'm getting that.

Maybe I just sucked at #2, but I found Beautiful to be easier because there wasn't stupid shit like "collect all the flowers on a level" to be done with it.  The 100 point thing works out pretty well if you know where to go and what to hit.  Getting on the top of the Leaderboard is more insanity than I'd care to get involved with, but I'm very very happy with the challenges this game puts forth.

I've EVENTUALLY gotten 100 on each level except the last one (Ninety Fucking Eight! Ugh.), which requires 3000 requests to be filled it looks like.

Still, I had an immensely fun time, and multiplayer looks pretty solid.  I want to clean up the achievements and we'll see about Downloadable content.

Is this coming out for the Wii or the PS2, or just Xbox?
