Looks like an IP address/shared server fuckup. That's what you get for using dreamhost.

Sadly, brokentoys.cx leads nowhere.

I'm pretty sure Scott's not responsible for what little content that site has.

It's a Dreamhost problem.  He contacted them to get it squared away.. which it is now, at least on my end.

So now the price and the service level have equaled out. Good luck with that  :-D

Nah, I've just been to AGC and met people who go to places like Fullsail.

You go to Fullsail? How is Video Game College going for you? I actually saw it referenced on James Cameron's Digital Domain site and was curious.

edit: not for Game Design though. I'm interested in Film Production.

Actually, I'm here for Recording Arts.  But my friends in the film program have said very good things about it.  A lot of them transferred here from other schools.

Be careful!  Doing this may cause you to someday be in the company of musicians!  I tell you from experience that this could drive you clinically insane!

There's people studying to become game designers in the neighboring school here in town, they're all pretty lame hehe. I mean I don't know if you should blame the people going for being naive enough to attend to such a program or the school for offering it. I believe there was like 0 people getting hired who graduated before the summer this year, which was the case last year as well.

I have two friends who went to Fullsail for recording arts. They haven't done much in the years since they've graduated. And... I still know more than them myself. I'm just a musician.

Also, I think they made a big mistake in not taking advantage of the internship opportunities that school has to offer. If anything, that's probably the most valuable bit, not the education apparently.

Wha? Why would you not take an internship? Real world experience is golden and not to mention you could end up with a job when you graduate. I.. I don't get it. It's like the people in my program, admittedly I'm in Human Resources and not Recording, that think the Co-op term is a waste of their time. So you spend an extra "term" working after everyone graduates. Some people just don't think about what they're saying.

On the topic of fullsail, I once applied to become an international student at a college here in Ontario. A week after I did I started getting packages and emails from Full Sail. 60K a year without Residence and no guarantee anyone will hire you? Fuck that. I'll stick to my under 4K a year tuition with a co-op term, thanks.

Heh, don't forget that the campus is more or less a glorified strip mall.  I had classes directly next door to a grocery store a few months ago.

Is that where the old southern ladies drink their tea?  I think I was in there once for some reason.

It is near Eatonville. The only good thing about this area is Zora Neale Hurston. Even then, some people don't like her.

On the topic of FullSail, I've heard very mixed reviews, especially in regards to people interested in the PC Gaming industry.

I only wish our books were that high quality!  Most of them are compiled by the stuff and put together in-house.  One of them, in the glossary, actually had a definition for beer.

Phildo--didn't know you were a student at Full Sail--while I know you aren't on the programming track, you should still check out an instructor named Eric Preisz--he teaches the video optimization class.

Eric is one of the world's top Torque engineers not working directly for GG, and is a great guy. He's just now arriving (like an hour ago probably) here in Eugene for IGC, and I'll make sure he knows I'm sending you his way :) (note: send me a PM with your real name, I don't think telling him "hey, guy named Phildo is going to look you up!" will work well ;) )
