What are you afraid of?
Besides my own shadow, conspiracies, Big Brother and aliens... Umm... Everything?

The information they collect I'd give to anyone that asked (like the game sites or general information (+porno) places I visit *I am essentially every 13-37 yr old internet user*)... But it's also something that I disagree requires being collected at all and probably shouldn't be.

I'm at least knowingly giving up my rights, by forcing Java to prompt me, but then again what difference does it make if everyone else just lets it happen?

fun?

LOL

I was/am having alot of fun with this circular debate on web browsing habits and privacy derived from Raph's "big news".

Is that you volunteering to clean up the place when I mentally masterbate all over the thread? Or are you going to get Google to suck out my brain cells?

I'm more afraid of Mod peen waving or them sickening people than I am of Google Analytics.

This is the only video link I could find.

I didn't know people who hadn't seen Dr. Strangelove were allowed onto the Internets.   shocked

They aren't "collecting" anything. They're just counting page hits.
They aren't interested in you, the individual, at all.
Companies that use ads and adwords and analytics and whatever else Google bundles in, are interested in finding out how many times each ad drove a user to their shopping cart.

Anyway, getting away from this ridiculous derail into another. Bill Maher had a bit about the goddamned babytalk tech company names. Looking at the list from techcrunch, it's well-warranted. Stop it with the baby talk, already.

How else can the common boob be fleeced, if you don't speak his language?

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

Again, you donk, nothing they are collected is new. It's been collected by every web server EVER since the beginning of the Interwebs. It just makes it easier to analyze by the people who do that sort of thing. You don't get asked for that information at sites that DON'T cause that stuff to popup, the web server automatically grabs it anyway, without using cookies. Anyone with the right warrants, will power and log anaylzing tools can get the same shit. Google Analytics makes it easier.

So if you do indeed get even the tiniest bit of panty ruffle from this information being collected, get off my Internet, because everything you've ever browsed has been logged.

The information has to be collected in order to justify the money spent to build, house, serve and maintain all that delicious content you see on the Internet.

Here's how you figure out if your site's name sucks.
