It's only a flesh wound.

Quote from: news article
TOKYO, Japan (Reuters) -- A Japanese biker failed to notice his leg had been severed below the knee when he hit a safety barrier, and rode on for 2 km (1.2 miles), leaving a friend to pick up the missing limb.

The 54-year-old office worker was out on his motorcycle with a group of friends in the city of Hamamatsu, west of Tokyo, on Monday, when he was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and bumped into the central barrier, the Mainichi Shimbun said.

He felt excruciating pain, but did not notice that his right leg was missing until he stopped at the next junction, the paper quoted local police as saying.

The man and his leg were taken to hospital, but the limb had been crushed in the collision, the paper said.

How the hell do you not notice your leg getting sliced off?!?!?  Or pass out from blood loss, for that matter.

Don't want to lose face in front of your biker friends.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

Dude. I'd hate to be his friend. "You lost a finger? Pussy. I lost my whole friggin leg and kept on riding my bike!"

This is not as strange as you might think. When people suffer severe trauma like a loss of limb often they are basically oblivious to it.

You'd think evolution would favor those organisms who, upon losing a limb, could fucking notice it.

He was truly just trying to get a leg up on his biker buddies.

Evolution actually is smart in favouring those that can bring themself out of danger before passing out. Adrenaline junkies aside, thats what Adrenaline used to be for.

Yeah, I'm guessing being overwhelmed with pain and possibly blacking out from it would have left him worse off than not noticing his leg had come off immmediately.

Wish someone had had a video camera, I mean come on! Everyone in Japan has camera phones, who wouldn't at least take a pic of a guy racing after his buddy carryin his leg and post it on the net?

Hey, give him a break.  It is not easy to snap these one-liners off.

Really you need to give him a bit of a leg up and just let him run with it.

So I'm left wondering just HOW he rode for 2km while missing a leg. Last time I was on my bike, pedaling with one leg is rather hard, if not unpossible.

I traded in my fun blog for several legal blogs. Or, "blawgs," as the cutesy attorney blawgosphere likes to call 'em.

Ah, reading is hard.

It'd be cooler if it was a bicycle tho.
