Setup a league on Yahoo, please join. Should be a good time. As an incentive to whoever can pick stuff good, I will throw in a $5 Starbucks card, since that's the type of guy I am.  :-D

In. I am picking against ND every game btw. Just for the sweet, sweet satisfaction of earning points from your tears.

I got lucky with picking basketball.  Let's see how I do in a sport I supposedly know something about.

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I can't find how to search by ID#. How should I go about doing that? I searched Yahoo's help pages and I still can't figure it out ><.

Go here and click Join or Start Group. Choose Join Private Group, and then you should be prompted for the ID# and password.

Thanks, I signed up. USF for the win this year! We have a great QB and a defense that is going to surprise a lot of people against Auburn.

Can we make it spread? Just picking the favorites seems a little too damn easy.

I see that you changed the rules, but my picks still reflect no point spread.  You may need to delete everyone and have them rejoin the league or something.

According to Yahoo Sports, the AP spreads have not been updated yet, hence why they are not reflected on the league site.  When they are made available, you will see them...but this is Yahoo, so who knows when that might be.

My bad.  I'll keep my eye on things.

By the way, thanks for changes.  This should be interesting.

Still no spreads available. I wonder if we need to restart the league?

League restarted.  Please rejoin ya'll!
However, Nebu and Par have been banned, so good luck joining.  evil Just kidding.

Here is the new league info:

Yahoo
Group ID#:     27341
Group Password    donkaments

This seems to have done the trick, as I now see point spreads.

In, with appropriately inappropriate team name for the Irish fanboi running the league. Frontrunner much?

Usually because there is some question about whether a key player will play or not (injuries); but in this case I think it is because one of the teams involved doesn't generate enough interest from the betting public and/or the bookies don't know enough about them to calculate a spread properly.

This is conjecture on my part- if someone knows more/different, please pipe up.

Those reasons, along with one opponent being Division I-AA can cause the lines to not be given.

Oh, BTW, I joined.

Fucking Yahoo wouldn't let me pick early in the week. I was out of town the rest of the time, so I got a big fucking donut hole for last week. Consider this your headstart, gentlemen. Daddy is coming for you now.

And of course Comcast fucks me over with my internet crashing this week, and can't possibly send a tech out until today. So much for that lead.

I wish there was a setting or something to "drop" the worst week for each of us to account for people not getting in on time/ technical difficulties.  Maybe we can do that ourselves at the end of the league.  Oh yeah, and it would help if they kept the same number of games to pick per week.  If there aren't say 22 top 25 games, they should add in "interesting matchups".
