Ok so awhile back there was a post about f31.com. Unfortunately nobody mentioned NOT to go there until a couple posts down. Now I have all this spyware that Ad-Aware nor Spybot Search and Destroy will remove. Does anyone have a simple solution (like a better prog) or can I look forward to a reformatting?
Spy Sweeper is good but it's commercial. Windows Defender is free but I don't know how good it now after the rewrite of the original product they acquired. Another option is to run HijackThis and then painstakingly go through the output to figure out what needs to be deleted manually.
If you want to do it the hard way, you will want to run HijackThis! and the start googling the fuck out of the things you find in the output. Even then, I have found a few removal techniques that don't quite work as advertised.
