I liked Chronicles of Riddick lots.  Yes, I have a thing for big dumb noisy space-fantasy epics.  Sue me.

And I think "WoW: teh m0v1e" will have to be god damned brilliant work to even have a shot at making money.  General public perceptions of "LOTR ripoff" and "videogame movie" give this one an anchor around it's neck even before the race has started.

Metzen is involved. It'll suck.

Demote the guy back to just art direction already.

Just out of curiosity, what do you have against Metzen?

I'm not someone who has bios of the whole Blizzard roster in a notebook somewhere, but I think that he's a VP who is supposed to be Mr Lore.  What's the story?

Witty banter not included.

Basicly he's a complete and utter hack when it comes to original, interesting, coherent, and consistent lore/story/etc.

This is judging from my time playing blizzard games and only that.

If it's good for a video game it'll be terrible in a movie, so when it's terrible in a game and the same guy seems to be involved in the movie...

Not that I'd see a Warcraft movie if he wasn't involved. I'm sure it'll be a pile of suck no matter who does it.

I can't seriously believe people would pay money to see a WoW movie.  How could it be entertaining?  Lemmings would be better IP for a computer game based movie.  Sure, there were movies made based on DOOM and that zombie one with hot chick from 5th element but they SUCKED! ALOT.

If you need more proof, what about movie version Dungeons and Dragons; crammed full of game references, favorite beasties, and more suck than Sucky McSucky the champion golf-ball sucking anteater.

Whats worse is that you people are gamers.  You know full-well that the game versions of movies are arse-like renditions of the planet Arse.  A movie version of a game can only be the shitty reflection of planet Arse.  There is no happy-la-la Bizarro ending here.

As for plot - ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??? This is from the people whose quest library consists of a randomiser for collecting foozle parts.   The 'plot' will be an excuse to connect one CGI action sequence to another interspersed with easter eggs and NPC dialog from the game.  The scary thing is that somewhere in Hollywood there's a money-bags producer with a big gold exclamation point over his head offering a "Make a Movie" quest.

The only way this could be good is if they get the Daily Show writers involved and make it a 10 minute skit.  Even then I would only pay to watch it because Comedy Central and Viacom are a bunch of luddites who don't get that free viral distribution can only build the cache of their funny shows and maybe, just maybe, they can stop making those shitty, shitty, shitty sit-coms were lame zingers proppiny up the laughter machine counts as entertainment.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT: 45 NAGA BALLS

Can Pornie the Night Elf collect 45 Naga balls in time to save Swamprat Post from being modestly flooded?

WORLD OF WARCRAFT 2: 56 NETHER RAY GIZZARDS

It's a race against time! If Pornie can't collect enough nether ray gizzards, the goblins won't be able to make cocktails before the next shift gets off work!

WORLD OF WARCRAFT 3: PUG ATTUNEMENT TO KARAZHAN

It's all been leading up to this! Pornie has to try and get his Karazhan key with different pick-up groups. They said it was impossible! NOTHING's IMPOSSIBLE for Pornie!

Since Night Elves are Alliance, and Swamprat Post is Horde, you are clearly forecasting George Lucas as the director. angry

Since when do movies have to be good to be popular?  I think it would be a decent success if it was straight to video like that final fantasy movie, the good one... Advent Children i think.  What if it was a huge blockbuster though, what would a 300 million box office mean for wows subscription numbers?
