Right, well.  I think you've misrepresented my brushwork by trivializing several scenarios.  I do like colors though, so feel free to add them if you've the time.  I think a progression gap is necessary, and the size of that gap is important.  The current common systems of progression may not be the best for this type of game.  Relatedly, I don't profess to have all of the answers.

I think Warhammer is going to appeal to WoW/DAOC players, and I think AOC is going to appeal to Shadowbane/Darkfall/Old UO PVP/Hardcore PVP server population types.

I haven't been following AoC for the last couple of months but what's changed to make you say this?  Apart from the announcement that there are going to be some open PvP servers in addition to the PvE ones I'm not sure how you get that?

Meanwhile AoC will barely work, be missing several key features but will try to push the envelope just a tiny bit away from the same cookie cutter diku bs we've all come to know and loath(e).

Throw Neocron on that list, the game was pretty fucked but it had some of the best endgame PVP and other systems (implants, drugs, vehicles)
